Enough grass for two lambs?

    Hi There,

    How much land would be needed to support two weaned lambs from spring to Autumn? We've a lawn around our house (Approx 0.35 Acres and the grass grows rapidly here) that I was thinking of fencing off and putting two lambs into. The plan would be to send them to the butcher then in Autumn. We also have suitable housing attached to this lawn if required.

    Also assuming I maintain good fencing and dosing routine would two weaned lambs require much minding? I'd be doing it for my father who'd have an interest in them but due to an illness cannot do to much physical labour. We have a herd number so it shouldn't take too much to get a flock number as I believe this would also be needed.

    Would be cutting it a little tight. I was told you'd need 0.25 acre per lamb. But if you purchased hay and some meal it could work.

    Well done for doing this for your father, a noble gesture.
