I don't mind oysters, I like the ceremony of how you eat them with the tabasco and knocking them back etc.
Mussels though, I can only eat them if I've had a couple of drinks, just hideous looking, but they taste pretty good.

Don't get me wrong, if its cooked for me, I'll eat it but I will never order it or cook it myself.
I've never looked at something eating it or if it was on a tv advert and thought "I'd murder a lasagne right about now" like I would do for steaks, burgers or other pasta dishes.

I've always been a bit funny about food, very fussy since I was a kid.From a visual point of view, I don't like peas but especially mushy peas, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, spaghetti bolognese, lasagne, scrambled eggs (although I don't eat any type of egg), tinned fish like sardines, pizza, fried tomatoes, any cooked fruit that turn to mush (like in tarts), and many more I'm sure.

The list of stuff that I don't actually eat is much longer. I only tried gravy for the first time in my early 30s. :eek:

I'm a bit of a fussy eater, but most things I don't like are down to texture rather than look (taste does come into it, but that can be acquired).

I think asparagus looks hideous. Looks like something that could grow our though your stomach if you ate it.

Why anyone would eat pumpkin or butternut squash after opening it up is beyond me - both are like gutting a decaying orange animal.

Lentils are ok if mixed in with something else, but a portion of them on a plate looks like a mass of cockroach eggs.

Sorta "what's the point" without the soy sauce, wasabi and kimchi. Very morish when you get into it though.

I would eat and appreciate all foods. The only ones I wouldn't eat are the poisonous fish that you have to be trained to prepare and the stuff you see on Idiot Abroad like baby chicken foetus. Also fried insects or such like.

I was once like you but then I learned that it's wrong to dislike Sushi...wrong I tells ya!
My opinion changed when my Polish friend made deep fried sushi one evening. To be fair, that kind of defies the law of sushi but it was delicious. I totally get why you wouldn't like it but would you maybe try avacado sushi or some vegetable you like? I find it fun eating sushi cos of all the condiments...I love a good condiment (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

Just always been adventurous with food and not had any fear of it.

Even how you describe it so negatively has already turned you mentally off it so it will be very difficult for you to overcome it.

Very few foods I don't eat or like (celery and tofu maybe) which is great when travelling and opens up a whole world of food and enjoyment.

Yeah, I get what you're saying but that is what oysters look like to me. I love fish but shellfish and seafood just make me think of insects which I have a phobia of, so I was never going to give them a chance. But oysters just look vile. The only other food I won't eat based purely on how it looks is blue, veiny, furry cheese. To me, that's rotting food.

It's a shame really that as a small island nation we can only eat seafood if it's boneless and/or wrapped in breadcrumbs. If all the countries in the world were on a restaurant menu Ireland would be for the kiddies.

I have no problem with bones in my fish. I just won't eat anything that came out of the sea that's got a shell, claws or tentacles. I won't eat anything from the land with those, either .

Fat undercooked chipper chips. Big pale squidgy deep fried oily beasts. Years ago I got a bag of chips from the only chipper open and when I poured them out of the bag, they stayed in a big wet congealed bag shaped lump on the plate. Haven't been able to look at them since. Also winkles, my dad used to eat them and would boil them at home, filling the house with the smell of salty fishy evil, before plucking them out of the shell on a pin like a dead gone off snot.
