Has any big money move to Barcelona worked out since Suarez?

Being linked this morning to David Brooks of Bournemouth. Very good player but £35M and after an injury-ravaged season??

Good player would say its a alternative to thiago if we spending that on him or a possible swap with wilson maybe.

It will certainly be a massive shock if we were interested in Brooks for £35m when we pulled out of Werner for £49m.

coutinho really made a big mistake leaving Liverpool. He made his bed and now he has to lay in it, even if it's a different bed every year cos nobody actually wants him permanently.

Sterling, Torres and Suarez all left in a bad way but every one of them gave absolutely everything when on the pitch. coutinho was too big for the club and faked an injury to force his move. That's why I dislike the first three for leaving, and why I despise coutinho.

I'd love to see wee Andy go in hard on him in front of a full Kop for his Anfield return. Sadly, that probably won't happen.

I wouldn't be too harsh on Coutinho, we don't really know if he was promised a move to Barcelona that summer and liverpool went back on it. Also most of the South American players dream of playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid so when one of them come in for them it's hard to turn down. The chance to play with Messi and Suarez would also be difficult to turn down and at the time Barca were a much more attractive proposition than Liverpool

It turned out a bad move for him, but, I wouldn't mind seeing him do well again even if it is in the EPL. Also we did well out of the move, we got Van Dijk and Allison from that transfer and that's when this team really became serious contenders.

Buying squad players is proving as expensive for us as buying our starters was a few years ago. We've been linked with Sarr, Brooks, White and Lewis but the prices quoted seem to be deluded considering the fact that none of them are near good enough to start for a premier league winning team.

Just got forced by absolutely no one to buy the new keepers jersey, it's a lovely piece of kit

Loved both Suarez and Coutinho playing for Liverpool. But giving stick to Coutinho while trying to justify Suarez's actions is hypocritical.

Both were underhand in their want-away tactics, as were Torres and Sterling. It's alas synonymous with modern football, and it's a lesson for fans not to get too attached to players.

We did go on to win more easily that expected but Klopp was said to be furious & wanted him sold that summer.

Klopp later made him captain for a Champions League game that we had to win to guarantee progress to the knockout stages....if he was that furious in August why would he make him captain a few months later?

He played at Anfield last year

Maybe so but I’m sure he has made a lot more money by leaving and it’s not as if he won’t have a full trophy cabinet to look at when he retires

Are you sure? Rewatch the game and keep an eye out for him. He'd a Barca jersey on but he didn't play much.

Coutinho was the only one to leave a team on the up. Sterling and Suarez went into teams and squads 10 times better than what they were leaving behind. Torres did too but it didn't work out too well for him personally.

Coutinho is a player that really divides fans. I think people have their minds made up about him and aren't going to change their opinions because of anything.

It seems the club have taken Norwich at there word that they won't sell for less than £20m and have dropped interest in Lewis and no have put in a second bid for that Greek left back.

Should we ask Barca for Messi on loan for a season just to see if he can do it on a cold Tuesday night in England.

He can't. We got the answer to that question on the 7th of May 2019.

Apparently he was good against Wolves last week. That's the height of my knowledge.

/off to find Welcome to Liverpool video on youtube

I watched him against Wolves he was superb.

Nearly scored a wonder goal & done a great job on Traore who was taken off after 55 mins.

There's something very funny to me about someone making a Welcome to Liverpool highlight video for a backup fullback.

Another Robbo or another Moreno who was mighty for Sevilla in Europe and the reason the club signed him on the back hos European exploits.

The whole Welcome to whichever club that pop the second a player is even linked are mental really.

To be fair Moreno was really good for Sevilla even when he played for Liverpool, helped win the another Europa League.

I'll be disappointed if he doesn't have a mane of long back hair that he ties in a ponytail that is all I know about Greek players from the last one to play for the club.

It’s great that we’re signing cover for left back, but can this lad fill the role of Salah’s best friend or do we have to dip back into the transfer market for that position?

    I’m only slightly joking.

Got to feel for Lewis I doubt he is a happy camper right now.

Got to feel for Lewis I doubt he is a happy camper right now.

an absolute roller-coaster of emotions in the few weeks for him.

    from relegation to;

    looking like you'll he joining the best club in world under the best manager in the world learning your trade off the best player in the world in your position to;

    it ain't happening kid, sorry.

Maybe all those perfectly timed tweets about Lewis by the Liverpool journalists at the same time last week were actually a diversion tactic, so that Liverpool could concentrate on this guy.

Or maybe what they are saying now is true and that Norwich would not budge on price so they moved on. There has been some chatter about this Greek guy for about a week-ish alright tho. Meant to have been good against Wolves.

Or maybe all the chat today is designed to try put pressure on Norwich!

Either way the public way we seem to be conducting business this window is very different to previous years.

    Absolutely!!

Maybe I'm looking into it too much. It is silly season after all :)

The other small thing I'm thinking is, I wonder does Robertson need any small surgery or anything like that and so that's why this is the first transfer being worked on. A back up left back and need him in asap to play for 5 games or something at the start of the season. Robertson has been incredibly robust over the last 2 seasons playing an awful lot of football.
