    Hello,

My child is 6 years old and she's afraid of nearly everything. First we thought that she might be shy, but everyday we know that there is a problem somewhere. She does not talk to strangers at all, if someone says 'Hi' she won't reply. She doesn't go take a walk inside a supermarket for example or go to another aisle other than where are, the parents, are walking in.

In the school, she barely talks to her teacher, she just node her head. She also don't play in the playground unless it's almost empty. She's shy of people, scared of insects and nearly everything. This is affecting her greatly, I don't even think she might have the proper vocabulary to talk to people!

So my question is, where do we start? psychiatrist? and how bad is this? and from a prospective of other parents with the same condition, how was this improving? or not?

Thanks a lot for your help

Has her teacher said anything? It can't have gone unnoticed in school?

Let's say it was unnoticed because of the COVID, she didn't spend much time in school yet, last year she was in Junior infant and this year she's in Senior with only like 2 month in school

Surely in JI the teacher would have said something, what happened at the parent teacher meeting? Were concerns raised in preschool? She would have been in school from Sept to March this year, again did no teacher flag anything?
