Munich have set a 27 million price tag on Alcantara.

I don't see us spending that much on a 29 year old.

I'd forgotten how fast the 2005 final was

That's a bargain for a player of his quality.

With 10m in the pocket from Lovern, and Fabhino's ability to step into defense if needed it's becoming viable. We don't really need to replace Lovern with Matip and Gomez and Fabinho there

Not with his injury record, considering Matip and Gomez are also prone to injury I'd much rather see the money spent on cover at CB, ideally someone who can also cover LB.

He's a world class player in his prime. Less injuries than KDB, if you could sign KDB for 27m you'd be all over it.

I don't see it happening but it's not unreasonable either.

Would you sign KDB who is the same age and has missed more games through injury over the last 5 seasons?

    Thiago is world class.

I really don't want Fabinho having to cover elsewhere. He's too important in midfield. If he's fit, he should be playing midfield.

Apparently we are in for Diego Carlos from Sevilla? Anybody here of this before?

Man City to compete with Liverpool for Sevilla's Diego Carlos
Manchester City could be set for a transfer battle with Liverpool over the services of Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.

Both clubs are looking for a centre-back, with doubts surrounding the long-term future of City's John Stones and the exit of Liverpool's Dejan Lovren.

Looks to me like a 2+2=5 situation, we sold Lovren and Sevilla are open to sell so we are in for him. Or is it more concrete?

What we actually need is cover for LB,CB and Attack.

Anything else like Thiago would be a huge bonus however the above three positions area priority for me.

However Thiago at €27m is a no brainer.

Diego Carlos would cost far too much .

Thiago 25m would be the transfer of the summer.

He is world class not many CM's as good as him.

    Thiago is world class.

KDB has proven himself in the premiership, (some world class players struggle to adapt) and in last 155 appearances has scored 36 goals, 66 assists, Thiago Alcantara in last 150 appearances has scored 17 and assisted 31 in 199 matches (can't find his assists for last 150) so less than half the output of KDB.

So you're comparing apples and porcupines, but yes, I'd take KDB at that price, or TA at half the price.

Thiago has proven himself in Spain Germany and International level saying he he hasn't proven himself in a league he hasn't played in as a reason not to sign him well then I'll leave you with apples and porcupines.

Thiago at €27m will be the best deal any club will get this summer.

No, the main reason not to sign him is his injury record, as I stated earlier. You threw KDB into the mix and I'm pointing out KDB's stats would be worth the risk, TA's not so much, will be delighted if I'm proven wrong next season.

We already have one player that proves goal scoring and assist stats really mean nothing and no Liverpool fan would drop him from the team.

Some stats only show so much of a player adds to a team.

To be fair, Thiago generally plays deeper than De Bruyne.

Although, I must say, I didn't realise his injury record was quite as extensive.

What the hell was Cisse at didn't pass to Garcia who was as free as a bird then runs and shoots terribly. Some pretty terrible players back then - all heart.

Watched it in a pub in Twickenham. What a night.

Comparing the team sheets at ht when 3-0 down, we had absolutely no right at all to lift the trophy.

    Effort and heart!

I actually think Dudek broke Shevchenko that night.

Watching that game. Brentford are twice the team. Not a hope Swansea will take this

expecting Andy Gray & his mate to come out with some nonsense tomorrow that Salah cutting his hair is a sign he's ready for change & will be leaving Liverpool.

Thiago for 27 mil would be great value, we should go all out tbh.
