I've heard he has lightning quick reflexes now

    Is he alright?

    That would be my question.

According to the OP he fully recovered.

Poor f**er must still be twitching.
Probably can't help bating himself off every time he goes for a wizz

Wonder if he started singing Baby I'm a firework when it hit him?

That's the first time I've seen it, as it's been claimed he fully recovered I'll admit it's hilarious.

The black smoke! :D It's like poor special effects from the 80s.

I don't really get this "falling over" humour, like when a lad gets struck by lightning or falls down a flight of stairs. There are whole compilations of these incidents on YouTube, and maybe I'm a miserable bastard but I can't even raise a grin.

Reminds me of the Jackass series. Some people found it hilarious. Not keen on that pie-in-the-face stuff myself.

Is that because you think he turns into a 10,000V stun gun if you touch him?

Does make for a nice tattoo though:

^^^^ The goalkeeper needs to lose a bit of that puppy fat or he'll never make it at senior level

Why? Next to him is the safest place to be in that thunderstorm, it's not going to hit twice in the same spot.

Static electricity I guess, like that whack you used get from a car door before they used static strips to ground the body of the car.

Couldn’t help but laugh when I saw the video clip though, of course it would have been tragic if he died, but he didn’t, all good :D

    Ground is the key word.
Static electricity on the ground is not possible, you can only have static electricity on objects that are insulated from the ground, and that excludes the ground itself.

Never mind the tattoo, did it caused him to grow that pair?

    In Russian lightning hits goalkeepers

Why was the goalkeeper taking shots on goal?

The GK needs to be able to do decent shots, they regularly shoot the ball across the pitch.

I don't know if this is a thing anymore, but it used to be that some of the field players also trained a bit for goalkeeping, in case the GK was sent out or injured and they were out of subs.

If he stayed in goals, he wouldn't have been struck.

just as he kicked the ball, it's like the ball exploded

I understand it was very serious at the time, but given that he fully recovered, I can't stop laughing at the moment the lad gets hit.

Like something out of a Harry Potter movie.

He was just shaping up for a *lightning strike*
