When are the 3 debates scheduled?

They should be entertaining one way or the other. Either Biden will toast Trump on his failings, or Trump will goad Biden on his gaffes and make him lose the rag.

Ah now, let's not go that far.

Trump's a twat, no doubt. But compared to Bush Jr his damage so far has been miniscule.

135,000 excess Covid-19 deaths. Lots of damage to the US economy and international standing. It's a close call with Bush Jr (who up till Trump was the worst of all time)

Why has America had so few deaths?

Too many if course but 350mn people live there.

    Is it their climate?
Sure as **** isn't their healthy diet and exercise.

I don’t think Biden is capable of debating at this stage. His team will deal with this with massive preparation. Once he doesn’t get absolutely annihilated his team will be content.

Going to be serious low quality debating either way. But it'll definitely be entertaining!

can u give us a clue of what trumps goals are for his 2nd term. i listened to him answer hannity but i need a translator

He has no goals, he has no policies. His rallies are beyond embarrassing - no vision or platform for the future. What he does have is the ability to spout a load gibberish with a healthy dose of racism thrown in and the people at his rallies absolutely love it (case in point below). He's the most uninspiring leader I've seen in a long time.

FYP. Who has been more coherent to listen to, for the last few months? Hint: Not Trump

In fairness Biden is incoherent. He is senile and can only half function reading a teleprompter. Trump is well able to speak off the cuff. He may speak rubbish but is generally saying what he means, whereas Biden just gets confused and mixed up.

We are not talking about who would be the best president here, but who should win a debate. Clearly Trump would have the advantage in a debate. Not because he will say anything great but he is far better than Biden at the off the cuff stuff.

Biden will struggle to hold thing’s together during a debate. His only chance is to try and learn monologues off by heart and spout them out regardless of the questions.

Sean Hannity asked Trump what his goals were for a second term.
Trump: 'Well, one of the things that will be really great, you know the word experience is still good. I always say talent is more important than experience. I’ve always said that. But the word experience is a very important word. It’s an — a very important meaning.

I never did this before. I never slept over in Washington. I was in Washington, I think, 17 times. All of a sudden, I’m president of the United States. You know the story. I’m riding down Pennsylvania Avenue with our First Lady and I say, ‘This is great. But I didn’t know very many people in Washington. It wasn’t my thing. I was from Manhattan, from New York. Now I know everybody, and I have great people in the administration.”

You make some mistakes. Like, you know, an idiot like Bolton. All he wanted to do was drop bombs on everybody. You don’t have to drop bombs on everybody. You don’t have to kill people.'

You really think that is the output of someone who is a good speaker?
And BS catchphrases of 'Build the wall' 'Lock her Up' isn't either.

Not bad if your goals are:
    1. get richer
    2. don't go to gaol

    Yes they are BS catchphrases.

However, it is really telling that I am being given instances of poor speaking from Trump rather than recent instances of good off the cuff speeches from Biden.

Yes. I'm never left in any doubt as to what Trump means. I think most of it is garbage but that just makes him a bad President. He's a very, very good speaker.

You said that Trump is well able to speak of the cuff, he patently isn't. Just because there is noise coming from his mouth does not mean that he is well able to speak. The phrase, 'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt' could have been coined with him in mind.

Ah in fairness he is. Of course you will find some mistakes but in general he speaks clearly, far clearer than Biden.

Maybe if Trump gets another 4 years he could be worse than Bush, but as he won't then its JR.

We mustn't forget Iraq or downplay it, twas a war that was fought on lies, hundreds of thousands dead, ISIS emerged and the region radicalised.

We also had Katrina, plenty of dog whistling from his team and some terrible economic strategies, Bush as a person might be more intelligent and likeable than Trump but nope for now Bush was the worst of the two.

Some mistakes ? He lies constantly and sometimes contradicts himself in the same sentence. Speaking clearly isn't relevant when what you are speaking is verbal rubbish.

2 times in the last week he has spoken.
His speech in Tulsa and the Hannity interview, can you point out the good bits ( or at least translate them into somethinh correrent)

Speaking clearly is relevant in a debate, even if your talking rubbish.

Again, everyone here is just attacking trump. Absolutely no one has said anything to defend Biden yet. Why might that be?

Because Trump is such an inept individual to respond by commenting on Biden would in some way validate the view that Trump is a reasonable communicator.

It's like inviting a flat earther on to a show to talk about physics with Brian Cox. They are not the same and the flat earthers incompetence needs to be focused on to definitively prove that they are out of their depth.

You want an example of clear communication from Biden. Try this.

Because every "attack on Biden" that is used is generally something that Trump has already shown himself to be even worse at.

Its like saying standing in dog shít is a disgrace while standing ankle deep in pig shyte.

There are two areas of weakness in Trumps speaking style.

The first is his NY dialect mannerisms. But they aren't a sign of cognitive weakness, they are colloquial in nature and further enhance his image as every day, no BS kind of guy.

The second is an occasional gaffe. It's hard to say, in these instances, if he is under pressure or if he is trolling the media. He clearly likes to do the latter, but he may also use this to disguise his gaffes.

Importantly though, his gaffes are occasional and not part of a persistent pattern. Which means he is still sharp and capable. His ability to speak coherently as well as off the cuff in front of thousands and a national TV audience clearly supports this.

Bearing in mind he is presenting himself for re-election while still managing his duties as president - so he has double the pressure that Biden has, and he still wipes the floor with him.

So clearly Trump is in far batter cognitive shape than Biden. There's no comparison, really.

    Uhuh. From false premises...

You mean the swearing or the jerky body movements or the sniffing?

BTW - NYC born and raised here and active in business for many years. Trump's a dreadful speaker, period. As a self-professed titan of real estate industry, the head of a multi-billion dollar business enterprise, you'd expect even a modicum of speaking ability. Not Trump though
The second is an occasional gaffe. It's hard to say, in these instances, if he is under pressure or if he is trolling the media. He clearly likes to do the latter, but he may also use this to disguise his gaffes.
Occasional? I've already posted one of many links. The other day Trump talked about President Biden. Slow week - there's a 'gaffe' a day or so.
Importantly though, his gaffes are occasional and not part of a persistent pattern. Which means he is still sharp and capable. His ability to speak coherently as well as off the cuff in front of thousands and a national TV audience clearly supports this.
From false premises... He gaffes all. the. time.

Bearing in mind he is presenting himself for re-election while still managing his duties as president - so he has double the pressure that Biden has, and he still wipes the floor with him.

Really? They've debated? They've both spoken at the same event
So clearly Trump is in far batter cognitive shape than Biden.
Does the UK have a nuclear capability? Cognitive capability really comes down to, does his brain work. Does Trump's? How did he NOT know about the UK nuclear missile capability (and what was the bit with the nukes and the hurricane?)

Biden stammers on occasion is all.
    There's no comparison, really.

Indeed. It'll all be clarified in the debates.
