Their daughter allegedly goes missing and you suggest that if they refused to let their other children out of their sight people would be complaining? Seriously I can't believe some of the nonsense people are willing or make up.
It would be perfectly understandable if that was the case, but oddly it wasn't.

How is it nonsense? We’ve already had posts criticising every single other innocuous decision they made, whether it was consequential or not.

What makes you believe that if they had brought the twins with them it wouldn’t have been an issue for people too? Again, bearing in mind, a negative and sinister spin has been put on literally every single other thing they did?

Just wondered if any valuables were in the apartment when the alleged abduction took place? Maybe they took all all their money, jewellery, passports etc. to the restaurant for fear of robbery, but the kids were ok on their own.

On the other hand, if they left all their valuables there and nothing was taken apart from the the 3 yr old little girl, well WTF? Mystified because the German guy was an opportunist burglar as well as a pedo. My word.

    It’s odd behaviour.

    No it isn't.

You have seen posts that have said they neglected their children on multiple occasions yet you are claiming that if they brought their remaining children everywhere people would complain. As I said utter nonsense.

Would anyone be willing to post FACTS in this case?

Anyway, I have no doubt that my lovely followers (detractors) will enlighten me, because AFAIC this case is so full of holes it should be called the Colander Mystery!

Here's a fact for ya. This latest incident has drawn all of the internet dwellers who threw plenty of shade at them from 2007 to infinitum back out of their caves to repeat the same stuff all over again. They revel in it. It seems like it's all they have. Yawn.

I don't understand why the people with their Sherlock Holmes hats on them think that everyone is hanging on their every word, rushing to enlighten them and argue with them forever...you must be nuts. :pac:

You know what I am sick of this "personal" jibes coming from the very people who throw so many deplorable "theories" at innocent people. Feel free to report my post. If you all argued with a little more respect instead of goading and throwing out the nonsense in this thread you'd be greeted with more friendly, less combative responses. You get what you give out. "Be kind" isn't just a slogan on a T Shirt. Personal....sure.

Amaral could be right, another red herring it seems, sad to read this but the mystery could keep going on. :(

You believe the McCanns are innocent and you are perfectly entitled to your opinion however said opinion is just that, your opinion it gives you no automatic right to the moral high ground where you believe you have the right to make personal jibes at other posters who you disagree with. Surely if you don't like the comments of others, there is a simple solution available to you. For example unfollow thread, ignore function and scroll on by. No need for the personal stuff. It derails the thread and leads to sanctions.

I get it. If I'd said "one must be nuts" it wouldn't be a personal comment, would that suffice? It's ok for you to say I come across as incredibly arrogant as you have previously but if I say you must be nuts it's a personal jibe. You're grasping at straws. I've said time and again I'd be nuts to argue with conspiracy theories because it goes nowhere. I've said it's practically the definition of insanity. So please stop trying to grasp at phrases used in general terms to say I'm getting personal. That derails the thread. You're on ignore now. Bye bye.

CB is a sad excuse for a human being considering what he has been found guilty of in the past , but he doesn't deserve to be made a patsy of just so a line can be drawn under this case.
The Met should open a proper investigation with nothing or individuals off limits which heretofore was the case.

Agreed but The Met have it in high level so I doubt they are going to change their limitations on the case. Posters may not like Amaral but looks like he’s predicting more then we realise. His police force might of mad a nuts of the investigation but I’d say he’s got alot of truths other forces have overlooked.

hardly the 'dramatic u-turn' in fairness - he's saying what we all knew from his pressers - they need more evidence. he's still saying they are convinced he's guilty.

i wonder what they have on him.

Amaral may not have been as pure as the driven snow in his professional life but much of the opinion of the man is based on UK tabloid drivel. He was hampered by many of the players in this case. The Mets refusal to investigate every avenue is absolutely bizarre. I find myself agreeing with Amaral that Madeline died in the apartment but that is all I'm agreeing with.

I have some but welcome the views of those who think there was nothing wrong with leaving three babies alone night after night in a strange home, foreign country, and they only ever saw those kids for bed and bath. (Well maybe the rare parent filled fun thing for half an hour like tennis or something), doubt the twins could partake though!

Anyway, I have no doubt that my lovely followers (detractors) will enlighten me, because AFAIC this case is so full of holes it should be called the Colander Mystery!

There was definitely something wrong. These were wealthy doctors. They could at the very least afford to pay a childminder to watch their kids while they went for a drink like normal people. Its utterly unbelievable they left their kids unattended at home. Aside from abduction, anything could have happened, such as them wandering off, or having an accident at home.

Their actions that night were suspicious and odd regardless if they are responsible for her death or not.

Frankly it's very unprofessional behaviour of the German authorities tbh.
Whatever they have on him it's clear it's not the concrete evidence they previously claimed it was.

It could lead to the case going cold again. I would like to know what they have on him but they must need someone to substantiate possibly the phone call close to when Madeline went missing, the missing link. You would hope they stand chasing their tails.

But he's right. The McCann parents are innocent. It's not just an opinion. They were questioned. Their movements, actions etc. were interrogated. And it was found that they had nothing to do with the abduction. So they are innocent of that.

Or are you telling me that you know better than the accumulation of the work carried out by the UK police and the Portuguese police - day upon day of attending the scene, questioning witnesses, forensics. But you know more from the confines of sitting in front of your computer/laptop spouting unsubstantiated rubbish.

Not being able prove guilt is not the same as proving innocence.

There are people far dodgier than the McCanns who got off scott free because the body was never found despite plenty of other evidence.

i don't believe the parents are guilty of anything more than neglect/ ****ty judgement.

    but out of curiosity...

i wonder why did Kate sign using her maiden name on the day when she took Madeleine out of the creche. every other day it was Kate McCann, but on the one day she signed Kate Healy. She also told police she slept in the spare bed cos Gerry wasn't paying her enough attention (whereas he said he assumed it was because he was snoring).

Was there something going on that contributed to their overall negligence?

I'm telling you nothing. I don't believe there was an abduction and I have not read anything that suggests the Portuguese authorities believe there was either. The UK investigation is hamstrung as certain avenues are not open to investigation as stated by a senior Police officer called Hutton who refused to lead the team involved.
I agree with you that they are innocent of abduction as there is no evidence one took place. There is strong evidence something happened in the apartment by the reaction of Eddie and Keela.

I vaguely recall them saying they were struggling with the kids who were hard to manage. There's no doubt 3 young kids would put a stress on anyone or any marriage. Doesn't mean you should leave them unattended. As for them saying the apartment was close by, that's like saying its ok to leave kids in a car while you do the weekly shop, because they are close by.

I think sadly, there will never be a conclusion to this case, like so many other missing children. There are animals in the world, sadly a lot are never caught for the horrible things they do, and the little kids pay a horrific price for that. I don’t think and have never thought this new suspect would lead to a conviction. They must have tried to link him to every missing child between Portugal and Germany at this stage. It smacks of desperation, and sloppiness.

She went by Healy quite a bit, she was referred to as Kate Healy in her interviews with the Portuguese police. I presume this is because her maiden name is still on her passport/ID, even if she uses McCann in every day life.
She also used it at work so maybe she never formally changed it to McCann, even though that’s what she was known as.

The night before was because she felt he had ignored her over dinner, wasn’t it? So she slept in with the children as protest, and he assumed it was cause of his snoring.
