An endorsement from Una Mullaly is like an endorsement from Gemma O'Doherty so to speak as they say.

For those of you struggling with new words to describe black I give you Jean-Ralphio and Tom from Parks & Recreation:

For the unintiated, Jean-Ralphio is one of my favourite characters ever:

    He needs his own show.

Just saw an ad on YouTube for Colour Catcher and they said don't mix your whites with your colours! How do we arrange a protest and a boycott?

I’ve deleted a couple of posts due to current climate where the storm clouds have been gathering, so to speak.

Further to my medical supplies an dat, I have managed to let all de hornets outta de nest, so to speak. My chemist phoned me & said they are now legally obliged to refund years of expenditure on certain items by stoma patients. She explained how there are literally dozens of medical reimbursement schemes in the state (Unknown to most patients) which have very convoluted administration and that leave the chemists in debt for weeks as they await refunds. She came clean and apologised for not having looked into it quite sufficiently, and not having sought more clarification from HSE, which hasn’t exactly played ball either. So lots of stoma patients in south Dublin suburbs are going to get refunds over coming months.

The medical device & drug schemes need to be brought to public attention, eg on Liveline, as probably half the country is paying for stuff they shouldn’t have to. I hitherto had honestly thought there was just the Medical Card, Doctor Only Medical Card, Drugs Payment Scheme (monthly max charge), and special pre-approved Biologic prescriptions which are then incorporated into the standard schemes, and all the remainder of people who only had occasional recourse to needing prescriptions just paid chemist as they got their antibiotic etc now and then. But I’m told I don’t know the half of it, and they require prescribing doctors being very specific on forms-it’s a nightmare getting GPs to write out basic prescriptions correctly. Nobody in the medical world seems to quite know their job in spite of telling a Joe Public how professional they are, and the patient is always left to push open the doors. You certainly wouldn’t want to get old and forgetful.
