Who was the person responsible for their child's disappearance and when/how did they get away with it?

i dont know . neither do you , hopefully neither do they.
they were disgussing how one piece of evidense in the case would not stand up in court.

also this is the first time in 13 years that there has been a serious suspect in this case apart from the parents

Oh, you said they were joking whilst talking about how the person responsible for their child's disappearance will get away with it.

So, who were they discussing then? A certain suspect?

Why would Kate McCann joke with a stranger about the person who was responsible for her child's disappearance getting away with it? It doesn't make any sense...

    It doesn't make any sense...

nor does a man who two women claimed they were raped by him as children asking them over for dinner after the child was kidnapped.

Nothing in this bloody case makes sense.

The effort to find download and use the app is multiples of the effort to type in the number to see if you had it saved, what's the advantage?

Totally valid point, but downloading would be fewer key presses (it would be a tiny app) and simpler for some, but importantly would provide focus for a campaign.

I dont expect many people on boards haven searched their phones already, as we all think it is unlikely to be there, the app would help focus the campaign, and some of us might check our phones.

As I mentioned if google and apple were on board with an opt in to "Help find Maddie" it would be a game changer.

    I will shut up.

Unless you can prove the McCanns were aware of this, your point is irrelevant. I genuinely can’t understand why you keep bringing it up, because the way you word it implies they had knowledge of these accusations when there is no effort to support this.
Those women didn’t claim he raped them as children until many, many years after he met Kate & Gerry.

they dont have to be talking about anyone specific , joking that key evidence wont stand up in court is crazy

it doesnt have to make sense.

but it is very wierd and very suspicious.

The fact they were aware or not is not the point.

It still doesn't make any sense why a man who two women who didn't know each other claimed to be raped by him as a child would invite them over to his house.

This is bloody odd. Them been aware of it is irrelevant. Please see post on robotic like replies when pedophile mentioned for more info.

it might be a total coincidence but it is very suspicious

Is especially when the man they're talking to had two women claim to be raped by him as children. So theyre potentially sitting there laughing with a pedophile about how whomever wouldn't get caught because the evidence wouldn't hold up

The mother is laughing about it. Laughing. Weird is an understatement.

Answered above. Abductions are extremely rare. The chances of this happening are infinitessimally rare.

    A nonsense statistic permutation here.

They either happen or they don’t. It’s 50-50

Just because every second child in the world isn’t getting abducted doesn’t change the 50/50 statistic. They either get abducted or they don’t.

Maddy was abducted and killed (by non parents) or killed by parents.

Two choices: parents did it, or someone else did it..

For me it’s 99.9 - .1 that someone else abducted her and killed her..

talking like that with anyone is wierd and suspicious but doing it with someone who later turns out is a pedo really raises how suspicious it is

Lol, you're the one who keeps bringing it up in completely unrelated discussions like rote!

You've done it least three times in this thread! And you accuse others of being robots :pac:

Can't help if the questions are the same, you get the same answer.

I'm talking about the mother laughing the dog won't be allowed to take the stand with a stranger and people asking about did they know he was a pedophile.

OK - Just an idea, shoot me down.

The case in the eyes of the German prosecutor needs more evidence (as most cases do). There is currently lots of circumstantial evidence, but they need more.

At the moment there is an appeal from German and Uk governments asking if anyone recognises this number +351 916 510 683, as he was on a call to this number for over 20 minutes before Madeline's disappearance. They feel this is a very real avenue to pursue.

The main issue appears to be that the telecoms operators in Portugal have long since disposed of the data relating to the sale and use of that simm (as it happened a long time ago).

A proportion of people, when changing phones, transfer their address book as a whole, meaning very old contacts don't get deleted. I bet that number is still in a few address books.

How about they produce an iPhone and Android app, that is a free download "Help Find Maddie" which just opens the contacts on the phone and checks for a matching number. They could even offer a big reward if its your phone (if helping find Maddie was not enough).

This would be cheap to do, not technically challenging, could be publicised on TV in Portugal (and shared).

At the moment all they are doing is asking people if they recognise it.

    Stupid idea ?

That’s a great idea, the funding that went into finding little Madeleine so far that would be a drop in the ocean. Wonderful idea, well done. I’ve tried my phone and it doesn’t work but least can try anyway.

Not to mention the amount of money the McCanns gave to con artisits and teams of people with no history of finding missing kids.

    Excellent use of resources

@2u2me can you add the number to the opening post +351 916 510 683 that would be a good way for us all to try help in the case of Madeline. Can you reply and let us know, what do we all think?

talking like that with anyone is wierd and suspicious but doing it with someone who later turns out is a pedo really raises how suspicious it is

    Aaaagh, it's spelled 'weird'!

It's not suspicious to accept a lunch invitation from a well known fellow brit in a foreign country who wishes to lend you a sympathetic ear. Perhaps they thought he could help their campaign.

It's not suspicious to find him witty or convivial. He was well known for it.

You only find it suspicious now because claims were later made about him after his death. His own family knew nothing of these allegations until after his death, yet you expect the McCanns to have known of his past exploits having met him exactly twice??

What I find weird is the constant desire by certain posters to paint this couple as 'odd'. Like, I'm odd in ways, you're probably odd in ways. That doesn't make someone guilty of a crime!

    I'm odd in ways.

But odd in I like two slices of bread to be contiguous.

Not odd in laugh with suspected pedophile how people using dogs to find my child won;t be able to be used in court. I'm not that odd.

Yes please do . It's hard leaving my daughter in the room next to me . Leaving 3 if your kids who are under 3 in an apartment complex while you do socialising

    Makes me want to vomit

    Disgusting horrible humans

    Throw away the key

There’s a hell of a lot of things that are odd about this case and the parents haven’t helped themselves. I believe in looking at both sides of this case and not answering over 40 questions to help find your daughter is odd, jogging the morning after your child goes missing that’s odd etc not criminal but there is a lot of ppl turned on the Mc Canns weather right or wrong. These are only things I’m thinking of in my mind there’s a shed load of things. Either way Madeleine is still missing so she’s the one whose life has been altered or ended sadly.

He wasn't a suspected paedophile when they met him.

Hopefully you'll never be in their situation in order to find out how odd people find you after the fact.

He wasn’t a suspected pedophile at the time of their meeting, there was 0 allegations against him at that time.

And yet round and round we go, you keep bringing it up and then bemoan for people for not responding to the ‘real issue’ which is the comment about the dogs.
Stop repeatedly saying they had drinks with a pedophile and maybe then your other points might be addressed. You’re just being deliberately obtuse now.

I hope I never will be. Should I be. It won't be because I was out wining and dining leaving them at home alone in an unlocked home in a foreign country.

There's me being odd again :)

firstly im dydlexic so simple spelling errors happen very easily and for some reason spell check is going haywire putting red lines under words that are correct.

im not saying all the suspicion should be on them. he looks suspicious too.

i dont expect them to know about it, how could they . but it suspicious. and note worthy

im odd , your odd but everything they did around that time is extremly odd. form
    the obvios neglect,
    friend talking about maddies genitals,
    washing toys,
    bags going missing,
    lying to police about windows
straight away saying they have taken her
    not answering questions,
drinks with strangers talking about evidense being of no use in court
    playing tennis
    etc

a few odd things is easy to explain away but there are odd things about everything they did before and after this
