I bought "The Breakfast Club" on iTunes last night (on sale for €3.99), while watching it earlier I noticed for the first time, the writing on Bender's locker.

The movie is from the mid 80s so it would have been a common enough derogatory phrase at the time, but now is no longer used by civilised people. I was surprised it hadn't been digitally excised.

Personally, having grown up with this movie I recognise it as being of it's time, but am wondering what others think about it. Is it offensive? Is it forgivable in this case?

Incidentally, The breakfast club is one of the most successful movies in terms of return costing a little over $1m to make & returning over $51m at the box office & much more in subsequent video & television sales.

Good movie in any case but I wouldn’t go out of my way to watch it.

Gone With The Wind on the other hand, that’s an actual classic that has withstood the test of time.

Old Film's/ Songs shouldnt be changed just because society has moved on IMHO

Christ, why should it be edited out that's completely nuts.
The world is PC enough at the moment we don't need to be editing films.

Edit it out? Are you off your head?!
Leave culture of the past as it is..maybe even learn from it's good and bed parts. Its PC overload to go editing old stuff for fear of offending current audiences.

I read it that trigger was referring to the proposal that the film be edited to remove the writing, not you changing the title.

It should be left, Fairytale of New York should be played in full too. They're of their time and I would expect a backlash against all modern PC in time.
