130 bhp TDI A4 avant, test til October, €575. Looks very clean for the money too, same owner for the last 3 years.

Can't goo too far wrong at 500ish for a diesel estate with a towbar and a bit of test.

Dont want to derail the thread any more, but 350 this year.

Last few years were more expensive, closer to 600 due to penalty points, but that's based on perfect no claims history/full license 10years+.

No derailing going on...there is already a forum for motor insurance here on Boards.....this is a question specifically for Bangernomics buyers / owners. Given the present motor insurance situation in this Country. Not much point in buying a banger you really fancy, then discovering that it's uninsurable for you. That's why I asked what was the experience of the bangernomics Forum follower's. So anyone out there have a bad experience insurance wise after buying their banger??? :)

... What is the bangernomics stance on cars that have had their test extended though, can they be considered bangernomics?

I was actually thinking about this the other day, and I suppose in fairness, ALL cars within date have been extended by 4 months, so I feel it's fair to throw them up here alright

Flagging my interest in case anyone here is selling! Looking for a decent car that would be in and around

    1.4L
    Saloon preferred
    Based in Dublin
Looks well, not old or tired looking

I have a 02 1.4 Corolla that I'll need to get rid of, (got via a Done Deal link from here a while back!), the exterior is in terrible condition but it only has around 80,000 miles and flew through its last 2 NCTs.

€650 for insurance. Same as I paid for the car :pac: I was 29 when I got it. 03 1.4 Corolla, no claims in 12 years of driving, 10 years on a full licence and no points. Was €650 at renewal after they tried to charge me 680. Previous car was a 02 1 litre micra so maybe that's why they increased it, I dunno.

Test til October and tax all the way til February 2021, €950

They're not the greatest yoke in the world but this looks surprisingly decent for the money

    Clean looking octavia
Might do somebody small bit of test left a months tax
Usually bulletproof engine but I'm not sure of the reliability of the dsg box in it.

I'd drive it to be honest looking for something like it myself

A lot of toys for the money. Pity the leather looks like a rental house couch but it’s a comfy cruiser for sure.

Well I got the A4 Avant here last August and 2 weeks later I was due for renewal. Its a 2004 1.9tdi 130bhp and I got my cheapest insurance I've had in years. 490 euros for fully comp. I'm 51 and full NCB

Can you say which insurance company that is with?

Hi. That was with Chill.ie but it took a lot of crying and moaning to get it that low!! :D
The policy itself is with Allianz

123 was very kind to older cars owners recently, too ;)

I was actually with 123.ie for years, but their renewal last year was 750 Euros for 3rd party cover, so that's how I ended up trying Chill

I've never seen steering wheel controls on that era of Octavia, heated seats too, if the box behaves itself you'd have a grand car to be tipping around in.

It's the top spec L&K Octavia, minimalist outside, hits big inside. Sleeper luxury.

    €1,800!
For a 2006 Ford Fiesta 1.2 Steel, you'll be lucky to get even half that
My daughter had a 2006 for a year or 18 months and bought it 3 years ago for €900
I see you also had the coolant tank issue. Seems to be very common on them
Best of luck with the sale anyway
