The fact is that Emilia Clarke was a huge part of the show's success.A great number of viewers started watching it to see her. It wouldn't have reached the critical mass where everyone knew about it and talked about it without that initial hook. They wouldn't have even seen Bran getting pushed out the window without seeing Dany having her bath first.

In fairness she has publicly said how tough it was for her to do nude scenes or to do scenes depicting sex and how she felt pressured to do so as a young actor. That's not throwing her weight around. You come off there sounding like its a bit of tantrum and I am sure you don't mean to be so glib.

You have to remember, there's possibly a hundred people on set when they shoot a scene. They will close the set for sex scenes sometimes, but you'll still have a lot of people, plus you know that millions will eventually see it. That can be really nerve wracking to do.

There were other actors who were a name before joining GoT who managed to get around nude scenes, Lena Headey for one using a body double, but the newcomers couldn't do the same.

Lauren Cohan.....used to watch TWD for the zombies, then they had fewer and fewer and I watched it for Lauren Cohan, don't even know if it's still on anymore and Laurie Holden were the only good things in it

Cohan is either gone or a guest star. (I don't watch it anymore either).

Holden is long gone-got zombie bit in Season 2 or 3 I think. (There's an interesting video discussing season 2, when many of the Season one cast were killed off. Apparently they were friends of Frank Darabont (the guy who produced the amazing Season one) and he cast them in many of his other films. (Shawshank Redemption, The Mist, Green Mile, The Majestic and so on. In fact, many of the cast of The Mist found their way into TWD. If Darabont thinks you're right for the role, and had fun working with an actor, he'll cast em).

Fast forward to Season 2, tensions on set, and castmembers who had been loyal to Frank-they were all killed off. (Noticable because the show tended to kill off characters in sequence-taking note from the comic books.)
