    Welcome everyone to the Codenames FG Super League.

    We can use this thread for general chat and updating results and standing throughout the tournament.


    Here are the teams,

    Sound (Osh & sKeith)

    Special Ks (Kitten & Kolido)

    Ectobel (Ectoplasm & Clarabel)

    Team D (Deconduo & y0ssar1an22)

    The Raging Cyclepaths (Green & Red & Ficheall)

    Bag of Skunk (LadySkunk & Baggly)


    Format and rules

    Each team plays home and away (10 games each)
    Home team clues first
    3 pts for a win, 1 pt for loosing team if they have 2 or less words remaining
    Word different (similar to goal difference) winning team gets +1 for every word loosing team has left, loosing team gets -1 for their word. Used to assign league position if teams are on equal points

    No Google (or research) allowed to find clue or guess
    Home team cpt to create board. Each guesser to PM cpt a word, home teams word used first to create the board.
    Team can choose either player to cpt, no limit on how many times a payer can cpt

    just a few initial questions:

    is there an upper limit to the clues you give, for example computer 5 or computer 7

    if you get your clues correct, you play or pass. if you play, you remain in charge of the board and give another clue. if pass, control goes back to the other team?

    correct.
    but. you can only guess up to a maxumum of clues+1, so 6 or 8 guesses for your two examples above.

    No, but the number corresponds to the amount of words related to Computer,

    You can also give Computer Unlimited (where they have unlimited guesses) and Computer 0 (where you want to steer them away from computer, and they also have unlimited guesses)

    Only one clue is given per turn. You can't get multiple consecutive goes with different clues given.

    With Computer 5, your team can continue guessing (up to 6 times) until they get a word wrong, or they pass. Then it's the other teams go.

    Just for clarity on what ye play for this one - if I give

    3: Simpsons

    and teammate guesses Homer, Stewie.

    and my next clue is

    3: Rocks
    teammate is allowed to guess Igneous, Sedimentary, Marge, Lisa, yes? There don't have to be 3 rock-related clues on the board, right?


    I guess the effect is similar to the unlimited rule (which we don't play IRL), but not identical..

    I mean I’d just play that if you clue rocks 3, it’s for three rock clues.

    But don’t think it matters much ultimately. As you say the result is fairly similar to the unlimited clue.

    Yes, the team first in the fixture is home. They will create the board, the guesser from your team should pm their captain a random word.
    The home team will also clue first.

    This is just my way of keeping things consistant, if anyone has any tweaks or additions, let us know please.

    We use a website to create boards, where you can input a word to create a new board. If each guesser gives a word, with the home teams word being used first, we can be consistent with creating boards.

    If this is overkill, we can just play the way we normally do and take the random generated word that pops up on the website.

    right, i'll be a guesser 1st and will PM you a word. decon can be spymaster (if that's the correct term), for the 1st game.

    No each guesser will only know their word, the person making the board will use two words - one from each guesser

    I would say play whenever both teams are free, skip a match day if you need but I'd suggest not going too far ahead. As we will have a lot of games. Play multiple games simultaneously if you want.
