Double payment

Last week and the week before I got double payment on my social welfare.

Did everyone get the same and was it because of the Easter weekend?

So will I not get another payment for a fortnight?

I get the money direct to my bank account. Shouldn’t double payments only apply to people who don’t?

Wouldn’t it be easier to pay in everyones bank account? That way no one is interacting.

My last two payments were doubles, with a week of nothing in between. Just have to be careful not to blow it all week 1!

It sees to be the case for most preCovid19 payment very frustrating.

Yes I struggle to be responsible with the ordinary weekly payment but this double gets in my head that it is “extra”. Worse that I got it two weeks in a row instead two weeks apart.

Really wish they had just left payments to bank alone.

I assume they have to be physically processed every week (or now two weeks) and this is freeing up people to work on the covid payments

I see where illegal immigrants can claim 350 a week now, they’re throwing it around like confetti yet I know a few people off work that are being refused payment even after multiple applications.

If they're refused after multiple applications, have you thought maybe they aren't entitled to it?

They were refused because they’re not entitled to it. The illegal immigrants you refer to are all paying PAYE and PRSI and USC etc it’s just that theyre not supposed to be here.
If the government is happy enough to make the deductions from their wages without asking too many questions then they can’t turn around and ignore them when the **** hits the fan like this.

Hi all. Does anyone know when double week payments will cease? Fed up with double week payments, not able to plan the cash ahead.
