COVID-19 happened after applying, 2nd interview in a week, cancel before or after?

    I'll try to keep this as concise as possible.

    1. Not super happy with current job, management, repetitiveness of tasks, workload etc. Satisfied with current stability, job security, benefits, working from home.

    2. Applied for new role before COVID-19, did 1st interview this week and now invited for 2nd interview. New role has substantially higher salary and is more interesting.

    3. Having serious doubts due to current global situation; what if they boot me out during my probation and all other companies have a hiring freeze?

    4. Not only am I doubting whether to accept the potential offer, I am doubting whether I should go to the interview at all or just cancel it beforehand. I do want to learn their feedback on my interview though and I do want to hear their final salary offer.

    Cancel before or after interview? Or should I dive in the deep and go for it if their offer is good enough?

    Your heart is telling you go for it and your head is telling you exercise caution.
    I think you'd be making the right decision in attending for interview,you'l know then how you really feel about the role and your thinking will be clearer.

    Go for it. No risk, no reward. As someone who took a similar leap recently, do it!

    Go for the interview. You'll literally lose nothing by going. Have a look into the company and see if they are likely to be affected so adversly by what's going on that they would be likely to go under or have mass lay-offs. Some sectors are going to be harder hit than others. Also with the wage subsidy scheme, a lot of companies are likely to be keeping staff on. Even if some people on their books don't qualify it does ease the pressure on them. Assess how they sound in the interview and if they are good, go for it. There's no guarantee that your current workplace won't do redundancies and you'd lose out there too.
