    Hi

Have been given a set of Panasonic SB-HW480 surround sound speakers. Have a laptop with no speakers worth speaking of. I was hoping to set the speakers up on the laptop.
Anyone know of a good, inexpensive way of doing this?

    Cheers and thanks...

I presume there is no hdmi input on the speakers? If not you'd likely have to go through a receiver which would take hdmi from the laptop and then have the relevant connectors for the speakers. Probably not worth it.

You are correct and right. The speakers have the connection type suitable for the system. I was wondering / hoping to hook up to a cheap receiver of sorts to connect to the laptop.

    Cheers for your advice.

Just the speakers? Absolutely not worth it, they're not even really worth anything to begin with.

You would genuinely be much better off just buying a decent pair of €30-50 2.0 speakers new.

Thanks everyone for your input. Obviously, I’ve given up on the idea.
