That V70 is gorgeous but as you say just not worth anywhere near what they are looking. I know someone who has a nice 2.0L 2004 V70 (180miles) with every extra available, just out of test which they cannot give away...

Thats probably why? wont make it easy for themselves and just get it tested? even if it fails at least they know whats wrong and can sell it on the basis of what it needs. Id be tempted for something clean like above, that one above is way too much alright, and short test too, too much of a risk with no test imo.

The time has come for a new car. Any known issues with Vauxhall Astra estates or Hyundai i30 estates?

I'm no expert rosie but if it was my money being spent I wouldn't even think about the Astra, the Hyundai would be way more reliable and that particular one looks like a good deal.

Check the i30 doesn’t crunch going into reverse, if it does then it needs a clutch. They don’t have a DMF so clutch is cheap enough.

I wouldn’t take an Astra it it was free.

Run as far away as you can from Astra's.

Hyundai i30 is a solid buy.

Thanks for all the information. Sorry I forgot about the sub 2k on this thread. Is it a fair price for it?

Is bonnet different colour to wing ?If it was a few years older issues would be rust ,rust and rust not sure if any better at this age ?

Terrible paintwork but an 06 Jazz with NCT for under €500.

Be ideal for someone starting out, still new enough to be handily insured

Lovely bus. Looks well minded. Very small mileage. Future classic, and prices will start to appreciate soon. Last C class that actually looked like a merc IMO. Tempted.

Alfa Giulietta owner here. 130,000km into ownership and not one issue. Great car, bit a different, very comfortable, lovely handling.

Using a cinquecento for a daily cork-limerick run is hardly the cars fault! They were cheap uncomplicated cars for nipping round to the shops for the odd jar of Horlicks. Anything more than that and there are compromises to make.

It's probably the wrong thread for such a car they have a fair following and are getting near the thirty year mark.

Are you mad. ? Using a cuntagetinto to compute from limerick to cork daily. I dont know if you deserve a slap or a medal :). I'd agree about the motor cycle.

It was almost 20 years ago when I was a boy and insurance was around 6k! I went from that to a motorbike and my insurance dropped to around 1400...which makes a lot of sense...

Mine was a bit over €3,500 on a 1.3 Civic.

I loved the way the boot opened on them. Glass went up while the bottom part folded down.

2005 mine was 3500 on a 94 1.3xli corolla van.It was either a van or a Micra .My god I loved and actually miss the car.
Ran it for two years doing 3-400 miles a week and nothing went wrong went downhill with most cars since.
