I think Werner would be a perfect fit for us. He has serious pace and takes a cracking pen. His stats this season are really something too.

Can you send this to Michael Edwards?

Neil Critchley has left Liverpool, to take up the position of Head Coach at Blackpool.
Managing those 2 cup games certainly worked in his favour anyways.

Opens up the door for Gerrard to return now after he said he is thinking of quitting Rangers.

Should get him back now. Are there enough games left for him to get a winner's medal?

Blow for the U23s with Critchly gone.

I reckon second string tomorrow and full team against Bournemouth

Adrian, Williams, Lovren, Matip, Milner , Jones,Lallana, Naby ,Origi , Minamino , Elliot

I might even throw Fab on for 60 minutes as he needs to get sharpness back ,

IMO we should prioritise both remaining cups :)

I'd not overstate Critchley's value - he is a good coach but the U18s are smashing it (bar City of course!) they'll probably just move Barry Lewtas up a level.

As bad as Dejan was VVD was worse on Saturday ,
First goal hes the free man behind Dejan and done nothing at least Dejan took Deeny the man he was marking out of the attack,

Second goal VVD has his hands out calling for a throw as Deeny passes it past him .

Lovren drags everyone down to their level - it's what second rate talents do, in every sphere of life if your team has one dope/slacker the output and quality drops and everyone gets annoyed with the weak link.

The worst is never strengthened by working with the best.

Robertson should have been on Sarr. It was only the 2 of them in the centre of the box with Robertson defending on the 6 yeard line and Sarr completely free around the penalty spot.

Similar to West Ham's second goal with Gomez ball watching.

Lovren can't play the ball out from the back and over commits to tackles that he doesn't win putting the other defenders out of position to cover for him.

Gomez is much more composed on the ball and in the tackle

Ye I agree with you Lovren was least to blame out of the 3 of them ,
Also Fab let whoever crossed it for Sar run off his back but thought VVD had him ,

You can't pass the book ,
VVD is the best CB in the world and for both goal was shocking no one eles fault but his own ,

Lose to Chelsea and that's three losses in a row (or did we beat Norwich 1-0 in between?) Wheels are coming off, the sky is falling, it was great while it lasted etc etc

As soon as the teams were announced on Saturday i said Lovern will be bullied by Deeney he was at the start and then spent the rest of the game wrestling with him trying to get the better of him.

Sturridge had 18 months to go on his contract and asks to leave for free.

Not many teams would let that kind of assist go for free unless there was something more to it.

Him missing 60% + of games probably had something to do with it however even at that they invested a lot of money in him to let him leave for nothing in return.

Bunch more cases of Covid-19 in Spain over the weekend. Keeping a close eye given the game next week. Fingers crossed.

    We beat Westham

Have to go stronger against Chelsea IMO.

If we play a weakened side and go out of the cup, and then fail to progress in the CL, we could end up with a scenario of our season being effectively finished in March.

Lovren was probably the best defender on the pitch for Liverpool on Saturday but that just doesn't fit with the narrative for most.

I was surprised Sturridge didn't head to the US during the summer tbh, so don't think this is massively unexpected.
