I'm not defending a scam, I haven't seen any hard evidence it's a scam, my thoughts are believe it if you like. I'm not into shutting down discussion just because someone thinks it's a scam.

That is an impressive deflection, but I've just given you incredibly strong evidence below that it is a scam that you are choosing to ignore - they are advertising a phone that doesn't exist. Try to answer the below question without going off on a tangent.
As I said, they have two variants of the Escobar 2 for sale. You have correctly stated that they are advertising the Escobar 3 as the first phone they will manufacture. So both variants of the Escobar 2 must exist already. But there is no folding phone that exists with the specifications of one of the variants. So there is no possible way people who order the cheaper of the two phones will get what was advertised. That is, by definition, a scam. Explain how what I have just said does not signify to you that it is a scam.

They could be doing a Tesla on it and restricting the ram/storage via custom firmware, I don't believe they are but from a technical stand point it's possible and solves your confusion about how it could be possible.
Maybe they'll offer to unlock all the ram and storage for an extra fee, smart move for a new kid on the block.

Wow, you're really clutching at straws aren't you? :pac: That is an impressive line of thinking that only someone who doesn't want to admit they are wrong could come up with.

But you say you don't believe they are doing this? So you believe it's a scam?

You wanted an answer : ) you've no issue with the Musk's doing it.

I believe you'll get something for your money, not quite sure what it'll be, maybe a fold, maybe a signed book.

But I haven't got an answer, as you said you don't believe that they are restricting the ram/storage (and of course they're not, that's nonsensical).

So if you don't think they're restricting the ram/storage, and if you don't think it's a scam, then what is drunkmonkey's answer to the following question?

I've changed my mind they must be restricting it or there was another fold with the 8gb/128gb that didn't see the light of day

They do seem to be popping up..

Thread should stay if only so you can say I told you so when March is over. I'd say they'll sell out quick enough and the marketing machine has done it's job for now.

It does exist, you have to admit that much.

You disagree with what you yourself said? You changed your mind within the space of an hour? Why is it so easy for you to admit that your own opinions are incorrect when presented with no evidence, and not that other people's opinions are correct when presented with hard evidence?
there was another fold with the 8gb/128gb that didn't see the light of day

Ooof, that's even harder straw-clutching. :pac: It's easily verifiable online to check what products a company did or not did not produce, whether they went to market with it or not. There is no lower spec Galaxy Fold, and even if there was, they would not willingly sell them all to an unknown company instead of selling it through their usual means.

The thread should stay open just in case you are right and so you can say that "I told you so", even though my evidence strongly suggests it's a scam and some people may read this thread and lose their money? That's a terrible attitude to have. Who cares who's right or wrong, I have presented to you more than enough evidence to suggest it is a scam, don't cling to the hope of that not being the case just so you can feel high and mighty if it means people will be severely risking their money. If I am wrong, and this is instead a form of money laundering or something, then I will gladly send you a PM apologising, I am wrong about stuff on a daily basis and would have no problem admitting it.

You even said yourself just a few posts ago that people might get a signed book and not a phone, I don't know why you keep flip-flopping between agreeing with me (and everyone else in the thread) or not.

Yes, I am aware that the Galaxy Fold exists and that a company has sent out about a dozen or so of them rebranded, and you know that I'm aware of this.

Yeah, I mean they could.... but they're not.

    It's a scam.

Really hope it's not a scam. Going to make for an interesting company if it's not.

It is a scam though, he wasn't asking if it is or isn't.

Thanks Op, I bought two of them there, great value as I've been looking to get scammed for awhile now.

Who would brand their phone "Escobar" in the first place if they had genuine long-term ambitious to be a legitimate company?

The payment methods alone scream scam.

    A great deal for morons.
