So what’s his terminal illness, and is it guaranteed terminal so to speak?

Not all advanced cancers are terminal. Eg with Hodgkins you will rarely be given a terminal diagnosis.

What will Joe do if SF get into government? Everyone’s problems will be solved. No need for Liveline?

When I lived abroad I had a Czech phrase book. I was in hospital one day and looking through the phrases in the "At the Hospital" section. The last line on the page was "You have an incurable disease". I flicked to the next page, expecting vocabulary such as "How long do I have left to live" etc. Except next page, was "At the Post Office".

I told myself, if I ever became fluent in Czech I'd write a phrase book with truly useful phrases.

It’s all because these days the lives of some cases previously diagnosed as terminal are being kept in remission.
