Full-time and it ends 2-1 to Dortmund. Thiago Silva nearly grabbed a goal at the end from a corner but it was just over.

Sets things up nicely for the next leg. The 2nd half was a sign of what could be in store and I get the feeling it will be a cracker in Paris.

Will be watching that second leg. Atlético are great and fair play to them and all but in terms of watching as a neutral, well It aint good.

Just goes to show how bad the EPL is this year because the first decent side Liverpool face in Europe they lose.

that ball will spend years in therapy after that second haaland goal, difficult to watch.

They haven't lost a home CL game at home in the Wanda I think. Mad record there.

Think they lost their first one to Chelsea. Been great since.

Both ties from tonight set up nicely for the second legs.

Think athletico needed a second to have a chance at anfield.

They have lost twice in Europe and only once in epl.

They slag la liga and call it a 2 horse race, yet Liverpool are 25pts clear in a 1 horse race but it's still the greatest league in the world.

Quality posting. At least make it funny like T.Hanks. can't multi quote but got some laugh out of T.Hanks post. The brutal honesty

I like watching a defensive effort like that, especially when it is very well executed. It's what makes football so fantastic.

They have been average in la liga this year too.

Thought pool would have done them home and away.

I had put that down to a bit of a blip. Maybe I was wrong though.

The ref must've lost his watch because I could've sworn he played 94 minutes. That's a helluva long half of football.

When you say they, who exactly are you actually talking about. Is it sky, or english football fans or who.

PL has CL, EL, Super Cup and World Club trophies.
Liverpool’s pts total would have them clear in any league.
    Try harder.

Hamilton and Beglin were going on about Atletico being in trouble and 'on the rack', but I didn't think so.

They're happy to concede 2/3 of the space on the pitch but defend the final third with every fibre of their being, and I thought they did it as well as ever tonight. Salah's header and Henderson's snatched shot were as close as Liverpool came. Atletico came close themselves a couple of times as well, wasted a couple of breaks at the end.

Second leg should be interesting. Liverpool obviously still in it, if not favourites, but Atletico are a real defensive knot, one which presents a real task for anybody.

I have to say, I love watching Atletico games. Just the way they defend, the superb shape they keep, the commitment, the aggressive attitude, Simeone going mental on the sidelines. It's so ugly, but they revel in the ugliness.

Proper big boy football. Liverpool dominated them throughout with the ball but Atletico didn't give them a sniff. Freak deflection decided the game.

Great tie. This is why these sorts of teams are at this stage of this competition. There's no other competition in club soccer where pedigree means so much.

Heavyweight bout. Half over. Half to go.

Atletico are headwrecking to watch in all honesty but brought joy tonight

Glad its Liverpool that are the ones suffering

Souness talking nonsense saying the Atletico fans can't like how they play. The bitterness is lovely.
