Its a three-way debate; as the leader of the 4th or 5th biggest party (depending on method of measure) he's not there

Camera director got a very good "oh, ****e" look on MLMDs face with the NI stats there.

And the 20k figure was reported on only a couple of weeks ago. Why is she so confident it can be dismissed.

Why is Mary Lou there, she don't have the numbers to become Taoiseach ?

This is the 3rd of the 4 debates I have watched and it's same old same old chat, has none of them anything new to bring, some scandal perhaps?

Mary Lou came out badly on crime & criminal court. In last election Sinn Féin said it would abolish the non-jury court which deals with paramilitary and gangland crime.

Mary Lou did not directly answer questions on the issue tonight. She said: “I accept we need mechanisms and special powers”.

She gets interrupted because she doesn't answer the question she's asked!

Oh yeah, and she was probably better off never having getting an invite, easily could play it to their advantage. But appearing in the debate, based on the latest polls, can only i believe have them drop in popularity.

When all is said and done after this debate, a lot of viewers and pundits will say MLM hit all the soundbites and that matters way more than Leo saying 'it's not enough I know' for the millionth time.

Bar a massive humdinger by someone

SF, as they often tell us, are an all Ireland party, their policies are their policies. So it's completely relevant giving they make up the government there, when they all haven't taken a record breaking break from it.

Precisely, they've been sitting on their arses up north for the past three years and now expect to waltz in here?

It's fairly mundane stuff so far. This format does not suit Mary Lou as she has to give more time to explaining her policies and the holes in it are being picked apart. MM and LV have been going through the motions. Neither looks remotely like they believe a word that they are saying. This is the problem with too much media coaching, things can come across as being a bit mechanical.

MM constantly giving out about being interrupted and looking to the hosts to shut them up for him looks so bloody weak. Grow a pair and shut them up yourself.

Huh, there you go. I always wondered if there was even a single person out there who actually wanted politicians to be shouting each other down like morons, and now I know.

Landlords are historic ass rings in this country.

You said it was a crime to own private property. We're not talking Anglo Irish Absentee landlords here. Just owning a home.

Was it reported ? I hadn’t heard that reported so was surprised to hear that number quoted.

Still you have to admit MLM is typical SF when it comes to giving straight answers. Not electing Pearse Doherty as leader is going to cost them yet again.

There is no question Doherty should be leader, very capable politician.

Whether or not you think it was fair to count all the years FG were in power.

Health? If the other two can't absolutely nail Varadkar on this, they might as well give up on everything.

These health stats are appalling for a small wealthy country.

its the only indication we have of how SF would behave in government, no?

Completely different systems, different politics, even a different culture if you will. SF are a different party on each side of the border in reality.

But throwing money at the problem won't solve it, it's once of the best financed health services on the face of the earth.
