    howdy,
So my sis is an accidental landlord and has a property. A letting agency manage the place. The agency look after any maintenance issues etc. These costings and the agency fee get taken out at source before my sis gets the rent.
Given this structure, can she claim the expenses and agency fee against her tax bill?

Hopefully it is simple enough answer one way or the other.
    Cheers!

Yes she can claim the maintenance costs and agency fees but it is also worth noting that it is the Gross rent before deduction of these expenses that needs to be reported as her income from rental and not the amount she receives in to her bank account.

    Thanks for that
