Anybody apply for the Kerry TCO 2020 or get called for interview yet?

OOM 4 for Kerry, nothing yet. Had interview in March last year with OOM 5.

From their message I understand that they will not reschedule a interview. Is this really the case or would there be any room for a bit of leniency?

I asked for a reschedule last year and was told it was only in cases of illness or bereavement that it may be allowable.

The interview asks for "TCO References" what exactly is a TCO reference and where do you get one? (I was working as a TCO last year but I'm unsure who to get in touch with about a reference.)

You can get in touch with your EO or whoever was your supervisor in your department last year. Make sure it's on headed paper.

Would you share feedback after your interview on the 21st? It could be really helpful to me, as I'm new to this TCO competition, having been at home with kids for the last decade
    Yes of course I will

You may not be waiting that long. The Dublin panel take on the most TCO'S during the Summer months. There also may be some people in front of you who may not be able to take the position. Best of luck.

Received an email just now inviting for the second stage(interview), I have until tomorrow noon to confirm my attendance or not. I ranked 699 in the OOM in Dublin so my understanding or belief is that they will never reach that kind of place, would i be correct in saying that or is it actually possible to reach that place and i should go to the interview?

Yes you should go to the interview. Dublin takes on a lot of TCO's during term time. I was placed in the 300's in Dublin and started in late May. Best of luck.

    Hi there,
I'm a first time applyer and I'm not really sure what my score means. My score was 1910, which puts me in category A Top third.. what does that mean. My OOM is 102 for Donegal. I'm assuming there is no way i'm getting called for interview when i'm 102 for Donegal. Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

    Thanks

It is my understanding that just under 200 were interviewed for Donegal last year, so you should be ok.

Does anyone know how to print off the application form? I filled it in on a work PC that had Adobe Reader on it. When I try access it on my own PC it just shows an error loading it. I can't print off in work.

Also, what are the chances of been made permanent at the end of the contract?

None unfortunately, you might get an extension, but to become permanent there's a Clerical Officer competition which is a bit more onerous. I think there may be one later this year.

Are you printing from within www.publicjobs.ie? Or try and attach it to your personal email and print from that. iirc, one of those worked for me.

I got it sorted. Had to upgrade to Adobe and was able to send it to my local library's printer :).

    The Interview
There will be two board members on the interview board and the interview will last for
    approximately 20 minutes.
The interviewers are looking to identify suitable individuals who demonstrate that they have
the high level of skills, qualities and competencies necessary to perform effectively in the
advertised role within the Civil and Public Service.
To determine your suitability the Interview Board may look to draw on examples from a
range of different areas of your experience such as your education, courses taken, leisure
activities, voluntary work or paid employment. This is to assess your suitability for the role,
particularly in the following skill / competency areas:
 Delivery of Results including Managing and Processing Information
 Teamwork, Customer Service & Communication Skills
 Specialist Knowledge, Expertise and Self Development
 Drive & Commitment will be assessed throughout the interview.

The TCO interview process has changed. It used to be a 5 min chat. Last year there was a stopwatch at my interview making sure we hit the 20 min mark. Just read over the interview familiarisation material and you will be fine. Best of luck with it.

Are all your interviews in your local social welfare department?

Does this mean you are being interviewed for just there or possibly revenue?

  • Registered Users Posts: 289 ✭✭natc

My husband got called for an interview for late next week. His choice was Carlow and interview in Waterford so interview location not necessarily held in preferred location. He placed in top 30 OOM.

My interview is in the Intreo offices in Letterkenny (Donegal), and I applied for Donegal; so in the same county. The revenue is also situated in this building so I am assuming that successful applicants can be placed in social welfare or revenue etc.
