We have purchased a new sofa and now have 2 sofas that we want to pass on/recycle. Not looking for payment. Ideally, whoever takes them would pick them up, but if its a charity I'd be willing to transport them. I'm based on Dublin. Have put them up on FreeTradeIreland, DoneDeal and Adverts but no takers for them. They're in good condition, colour maybe not to everyone's (cream/yellow). I'm really reluctant to chop them up for wood or landfill them as I feel someone must need them....any ideas?

Some St Vincent de Paul shops take furniture.

Unfortunately there is a surplus of 2nd hand sofas - even the charities are full. I ended up putting a perfectly good, but dated, 3 seater in the dump. Heart breaking to do.

Thanks. I'm definitely going to dismantle and use for firewood to limit the impact on landfill. Pretty disturbing that there's no home for decent sofas.

Put it up on the notice board in Dunnes/Tescos leading with FREE!! before you get the chainsaw out.
