windows ME reinstall

    can you good people out there who know these thongs tell me if it is ok to reinstall ME .
    It is an upgrade package that i installed over win98.
    (the reason is
    1. I have lost the run command , and

    2, while updating Virus scan the pc rebooted and part of the registey was knocked out leaving the virus scan useless!)
    I know i should have backed up before but i forgot!
    thanks ( bye the way i only have 250 mb remaining on the drive.)
