Hmmm; hard to read too much into something that has 2 trailers and a rake of reshoots in between, but this new one feels a lot more "action" based than what the first promotion implied. The last moments look suspiciously ... "last act superhero movie", glowing suits, swirling beams into the sky, 'n all.

    Blondie's arm seems to transform into something that looks like armour;

    Thats just her.

It manifests when she uses her sorcery. She can manifest a full suit but often its just her sword arm.

Fair enough; not au fait with the New Mutants, so wasn't sure. Still remaining cautious about this ever since the Fox takeover and the news of reshoots - or indeed the possibility of a MCU retrofit. This trailer feels a lot less horror oriented than the last & given the above information I'm remaining sceptical about what sort of final product we're going to get.

Apparently this is reshoot free they didn't go back and do any its the original version that was planned

Boone has said this is mostly his original cut minus the fox reshoots. PG13 though.

Again, fair enough. Won't stop me feeling cautious all the same, mostly because that trailer underwhelmed far more than the first.

I see Stefan Kapičić retweeted the trailer.

It would be cool to see Colossus given he's Illyanas brother. Maybe in a post-credits scene or a flashback.

I wonder who Antonio Banderas is gonna be playing.

I doubt it. Hamm was meant to be Sinister in a post credit scene but dunno if there'll be a post credit scene now.

My guess re antagonists (I'll tag it incase)
Its a combo of Mirage (by accident) and Demon Bear (thanks to Mirage) that are antagonists.

Just caught the trailer for this over the weekend and it looks pretty good. Was wondering why Maisie Williams looked so young in it though!

It was filmed from July to September 2017, the release was delayed numerous times

Bane voice: Ah you think terror is your ally? You merely adopted the horror. We were born in it, molded by it. We didn't see the light until Illyana teleported us through Limbo, by then it was nothing to us but a conduit!

if you mean the character then Wolfbane was 13 in the original comics

No, I meant I saw the trailer and thought Maisie Williams looked younger than she is (22). Only realised when I found this thread that it would have been filmed when she was 18/19.

    This poor film.

It gets delayed again and again and again. Then, when it's finally time to release it... BOOM! Pandemic.

The fate of this one is doomed...

Or it's genius. If it doesn't do well, which I'm guessing is expected, blame coronavirus. If it succeeds, great!

At the rate things are being postponed, it could do great by dint of being the only big release showing in the first place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,501 ✭✭✭✭Slydice

Be great if all the special effects guys were just sitting there bored and so started playing around with fitting as much extra into it that they could :D

Another new trailer lol this one is the comic con 2020 one.

August 28th 2020 is the latest date for release.

I don't seriously believe any major release will hit cinemas in the next 3 months. America has exploded in cases and spiralling out of control, studios would be mad to put anything into cinemas ATM.

This actually looks like a lot of fun I wonder what the age rating is going to be?

Its a pity that Disney can't just fling this up onto Disney+ at this point.
Its a bit frustrating that they have an insanely large catalogue of content to offer (Fox) and choose not to stream it because it doesn't mesh with their Disney+ family brand. I await the announcement of a Fox streaming service at some point (minus Star Wars and Simpsons).

They already have 4 X-Men films on Disney+ here.

It may be as simple as being down to rights issues this was made before the takeover and the first run rights may have been sold on already to different markets.

Film like this needs the box office exposure and revenue it won't be classified a success based on how many Disney+ subs it generates as it's be lost in the ocean of content. Film definitely looks very dark and very interesting I would like to see a sequel done like the twist at the end of Split one solitary reference opens world's of possibilities.

I know, but not things like Deadpool or Logan for example. I'm actually surprised they even included the ones you mentioned, they are oddly selective (maybe because they fall under "superheroes"?!)
Mainly I was talking about all of the Fox catalogue though (which is mighty and varied), not just the X-titles.
