I hear what yer saying. Perhaps 'superior ' is too all-encompassing.
Both pieces explore very different types of exploitation, and trace the story of their deeds, and tease out their backstory. The Impostor is better put together, to be sure. But in a slightly technical way, that's a documentary film; DFWC is a limited series, that milks shock value I suppose, leading to the Jeremy Kyle-style in-your-faceness of the talking heads etc that you refer to. My point is deny that this diminishes the sheer entertainment value of this limited series over the film. Even though DFWC is more low-brow, I found it far more entertaining, and troublesome, despite its cruder approach.
(I'd highly recommend The Impostor though- it is a great story:))

    They're both superb.

    Don't F**k with Cats.

Best thing I've seen in quite a while. Highly recommended.

Im on episode 3 at the moment and it is gripping TV. But it is also profoundly disturbing, the subject matter that is. I went in knowing nothing about it and that is probably the best way to watch this, but like I said, it is disturbing viewing.

I know nothing about it but I literally cant handle animal cruelty. Is this in it?

There is some yes but it's not really shown.
I love animals and I can't watch animal cruelty but this was ok.
    It's so worth watching.

You dont actually see what happens, the camera pans away right before, but at the same time you know whats going down. And there is a scene where some deceased kitties are shown. Honestly I wouldnt watch it If I were you. Its very dark stuff and your life wont be any less for having never seen it.

    Black Summer

This was fine.. the chapter style titles against a black backdrop every 5 minutes started to bother me. Don't know what they were trying to do with it but it just came across as pointless.

Some of the action / chase-scenes (while overlong) I found were frenetic and well done - moreso than say The Walking Dead IMO.

The ending was all fairly well resolved so news of a season 2 is strange, but hardly surprising.

All four seasons of Inside No 9 are on Netflix and have been for a while - I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes a little of bit of everything.

Every episode is a standalone story with a mixture of horror, comedy and drama - as you'd expect with a programme of this ilk some episodes are weaker than others but overall it's an excellent series

The bad guy in Dont F with Cats really reminds me of the Versace killer.

No I didn't like it, showed to much even blurred you could still see to much and hear the sounds cruelty to kittens and Puppy he killed. Wasn't very happy with that aspect of the series

    Mid 90’s – 6/10

Jonah Hill’s directorial debut is essentially the This Is England screenplay re-wrote for THE American skateboarding community. There are flashes of other films in there, such as Larry Clarkes Kids and the Oscar nominated 2003 film ‘Thirteen’, but this only serves to remind you that these films were all better.

This film is nowhere near as good as Jonah Hill thinks it is and he is no Shane Meadows. Safe to say he bit off more than he could chew with this.

    Klaus – 6.75/10

After seeing many glowing reviews of this I really looked forward to this. I found the first 30-40mins or so to be slightly underwhelming and had a bit of a struggle warming to the overly caricatured animation style. Luckily though, the film really picks up as it progresses, and the ending caught me right in the feels.

Not sure that this is the future Christmas classic that some suggest but its heart is in the right place.

    Bad Santa 2 – 2/10

I really like the first one. It nails that lurid, debauched humour to a tee and Billy Bob-Thornton was perfect casting. This sequel should not exist. It is mean spirited without any wit. A lot of the supposed ‘jokes’ are just people saying vile nonsense. It undoes everything the first film did in the worst way possible. Why on earth did Kathy Bates take this role? Did none of the actors realise what they were making was unfunny trash? Putrid.

    Fighting with my Family
    – 8/10

I put off seeing this at the cinema because a lot of the reviews were quite mixed. Even the positive reviews weren’t exactly glowing. I ended up absolutely loving this. Sure, it’s the sports underdog story all over again, but it’s told with enough verve and the cast really bring it to life. Florence Pugh had one hell of a 2019 and she has catapulted her way to the top of my favourite actress list. It is also a rare occasion in which the casting of Vince Vaughan is note perfect. I also thought Jack Lowden put in a very committed performance as the disgruntled brother.

I would’ve liked to see a bit more of The Rock and some of the scenes with the blonde ‘bimbo’ competitors fell a bit flat. But overall Stephen Merchant should be very proud of this film. It’s a surprisingly emotional story and I’m glad to see that they stuck very close to the remarkable true story.

Squeezed in Klaus within the narrow ‘Christmas movies allowed’ window ;) Gotta say I found it extremely underwhelming. I couldn’t get past the art style which I simply didn’t like - the pseudo ‘hand-drawn’ style came across as cheap and half-baked, and if anything only emphasised how ‘technology enhanced’ everything was. Otherwise it was fairly standard fare, albeit with a few nice touches like the kid who could only speak the local indigenous language.

For me the toned down animation style just added to it's charm - but each to their own

Anyone looking for a short documentary to watch have a look at dream/killer. Seen it last night, it's a small bit like a film but mostly a documentary but still maintains a good flow. Real interesting story.

I read a lot of reviews with a similar take on things as yourself. I don’t really understand it being honest, both were equally as crass and there was very little in either of them that was comical or heart warming...both were absolute muck full of pure gutter humour yet watchable...and then instantly forgettable. I totally fail to see how they differ from one another.

It's ok season 5, saw it online after it was aired - never thought I'd say it but Tayler Lautner is a great actor and his absence is very noticeable in this season

True Romance, one of the most underrated movie of its genre, has been added. Dennis Hoppers scene with Christopher Walken is epic.

    Underrated?

I think it's a masterpiece and so does everyone who watches it. But the amount of people who have never seen it is shocking and rarely mentioned when discussing tarrantino.

It's rarely quoted. Just Google true romance underrated and thousands of entries.

Those who don't see, can't rate, so those that have seen it have rated it highly. So it's a highly rated film, not an under-rated one, just not seen by enough people in the world. Phew! :)
