Question re the transfer of land

Curiosity question here...If one person and a land owner enter a contract and sign it to transfer land from one to the other but a day or two later the original

owner of the land realises that the person they were transferring the land to were not telling the truth about their intentions for it, can the original owner

stop the transfer if he acted quickly or has it been sealed by the signatures placed on the contract? If not then how long does the original owner have the

power to stop the transfer being sealed? Thanks

Likely court case for breach of contract if it was attempted and objected to.
The solicitor probably wouldnt have lodged forms with land registry so soon but that doesn't get away from a binding contract

Once the contract has been signed thats it,

Also when someone buys land they can do whatever they like with it. thats the risk if you sell land adjacent to your own property which I assume has happened here.
