41 with TAA & Mane(VC)...looks like I have reduced my deficient in my money league 72points

49 with Mane(VC) and TAA to go. Big match tonight :)

37 with TAA, Robertson and Salah (c) to go.

Could end up bang average but dreaming of a Salah haul in a 2 or 3 nil.

Miserable 34 points but also Salah captain so hopefully get a goal at least. Firmino and TAA also so hoping for a crushing defeat of Sheffield

A Salah haul would be absolutely orgasmic!

It could literally save my season.

However I have that feeling he is going to be rested.

32 so far with TAA, Salah and Firmino to come tonight. Also Cantwell to sub in with 10 points.

Barring an injury Mane and salah will both be starting tonight. It's a 4 day turnaround between games no chance they are rested.

I'm on 36 with salah capt, mane and TAA to go.

38 with Salah (c) and TAA to go... the Cantwell autosubs are going to crush me in my private leagues while Ill have that useless donkey Rico coming in with his minus points

I'd even be surprised if they are played on Saturday, so it would say there is every chance both of them play tonight

After today success in this GW is going be decided by how the Liverpool trio of TAA, Mane and Salah do..

Team news will be fun as I don't think all three start and lots of Mane and Salah cpts/vc's out there......

I don't really get that logic to be fair, given the high ownership of pool players among active teams, A good weekend shouldn't be determined by how those 3 do.

It may be perceived to be a good weekend, as people view getting high numbers as been the key to a good weekend, but if you sitting on 35 points now, when the average is 27 for instance, your having a good week.

Captain mane (I hope ) and TAA ( I also hope ) to go

    Interesting

Well we did say that yesterday, that saying you were having a "bad day" with a score of 45 was bit dramatic.

I’d be very very surprised if all 3 don’t start.

Given Pool's run of games, Klopp has to start the 3 lads, a shock loss tonight, could see them facing spurs with only a 7 and 8 point gap to 2nd/3rd - spurs will give them a game - imagine a loss there - and before they play United the gap could 4/5 points to third place - all of a sudden the pressure would be huge on pool.

But he could get double that.

But he could get double that.

I know, could also make a 1 point cameo. I'll let my assistant Klopp decide i suppose.

I’d be surprised if both play, it just isn’t necessary as ox can easily replace without much impact on the team flow.

    That's an extremely throwaway comment.

Liverpool are chasing their first title in 30 years or whatever it is. No chance they rest either of their best players.

I would say replacing Salah or Mane with Ox is a pretty big step down.

Is the Ox not carrying an injury?

I thought klopp said over xmas one of them would have been rested only someone wasnt ready to play, I forget the particulars but it was said.

Not a clue myself but poster specifically mentioned Ox which is why I brought him up.

    FA Cup handy for that.

From the soccer forum Liverpool thread*

Klopp said it's full strength. 4 days rest is enough.

    Ox is also injured

Be amazed if it’s not a full first choice 11 tonight.

EDIT: I don’t think some people realize how much everyone associated with Liverpool want the league. It’s number 1 priority this season so no chances will be taken.

Not really, would have thought it common sense that both have played a lot recently, and there are ample replacements if one needs a rest.

Liverpool will be full strength tonight, sheff utd are no pushovers and Klopp has recognised this. The cup game against Everton will be where players are rested.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

Players getting rested is due to the turnaround between games. The carnage we had was because of a 48 hour turnaround. Liverpool didnt have this over the xmas period so no need for rotation. Klopp has said its 4 days between games so no need to rest players. In the league the bit of rotation that happened was when liverpool played everton on a wednesday midweek bournemouth on a sat and had Salzburg on a tues. So both mane and salah got a rest each.Liverpool arent going to rest mane or salah in the PL till the CL starts back.

Just noticed Sidibe got 2BP yesterday in a 2-1 loss, I know it was a low scoring game for BPS but still very promising

Ehh, a shock loss tonight and they're still 10 points clear with a game in hand

Correct, but by the time they play their next game, both Leicester and City will have played and the gap could be 7/8 - They also play spurs/untied/wolves in next 3 games - no exactly easy fixtures.

A game in hand which will be against a much better organised west ham team will not be a gimme either.

Like others said, Liverpool want to win the league - and so they shouldn't be taking any chances by giving lads a rest here and there - cause Liverpool have been here before and messed up and that would get into their heads.

    That's where psychology comes in.
