Hi I recently purchased a new laptop (acer)
And it now appears to have a virus. I didn't get anti virus software and now it appears there is a virus. Who would I bring it to to fix and how much should I expect it to cost? Thanks a lot

A new laptop would come with Windows Defender.
What symptoms is the laptop showing that makes you think it's a virus?

It won't even turn on :(
So unfortunately I can't try any of the steps suggested above

Does it seemingly not have any reaction when hitting the power or does it get stuck at a certain point?

If it's not turning on at all, it could be the battery or a number of other hardware related issues.

Don't bring it to one of those fix it in an hour places, they'll rip you off.

If it's not turning on, you can't even bring up a boot menu to reinstall windows, so there's little can be done until that issue is sorted.

How do equate a laptop not turning on with it having a virus? Baffling!

Where did you buy it? When did you buy it? And have you still got the receipt? Did it ever work?
