It beggers belief Ole is still in a job.

He relegated Cardiff & has only managed Molde previous.

Could have Man Utd near the relegation zone if they lost the next 2.

4 wins in 14 prem games is very poor

Linesman putting up his flag for Leicesters 2nd goal well before the ball went in is very dodgy, regardless of it being on or offside. Players will naturally react to that, regardless of the generic 'you play to the whistle' line. They are instructed not to do it, although encouraged to do it if they fully think so, this should influence if goal is given or not imo.

In practice, how could it though? If the whistle isn't blown, in the VAR era where we know to a very high probabibility of accuracy whether something is offside or not, you can't rule it out later unless a whistle is blown.

Either the linesmen or defenders will have to adapt. Arguably both.

That rule needs to be looked at.

Have noticed plenty of instances where a player is offside, flag goes up but the defender recovers and gives away a corner, and then the game continues on with the corner. Only a matter of time til it leads to a goal. Or that a player gets injured continuing to play on after an offside.

It's incredible to see how well the Leicester city defence is doing without Harry Maguire. It must have been difficult for the Leicester lads to not burst out laughing when Man Utd offered £80 million for him.

That challenge for his booking today was reminiscent of Phil Jones' masterclass last week.

That Cantwell lad at Norwich looks quite cultural for a player from Norfolk

It just needs to completely clarified imo. There's talk of referees boss 'encouraging' linesman to flag if they are sure. That's way too loose use of the law imo, they either flag or they wait until goal or ball is dead. There has to be something 100% that linesman should or shouldn't do. You can't have a situation where in a different match, in the same circumstance, where a linesman doesn't put his flag up, then next week he might.

He only took over cardiff in jan and they were in relegation already.

Premier league has instructed their linesman to flag as they see it in contrast to to Europe who dont until after the initial 2-3 seconds as to not obstruct the flow of the game..

Needs to be a generic ruling

Malky Mackay was in charge for the first 18 games and got 4 wins , 5 draws. Solskjaer took over for the last 18 games and got 3 wins, 3 draws.

Can hardly count doing worse than the guy that you replaced as any sort of success. Didnt even manage a bit of new manager bounce. 7 more points would have kept them up

i always thought a linesman flag meant the play is dead. ridiculous rule. is the situation now that sometimes the flag stops play and sometimes you just play on?

Id rather the option to pick what match I want on Prime. Especially since I already have it.

    Exactly its ridiculous.

A flag going up always meant a whistle is blown. If a flag goes up does it mean the referee allows play for 5-10 seconds and comes back to VAR.

If so, dont flag for offside as you already have VAR when reviewing a goal. Flagging will only lead to players stopping.

Mind you, play to the whistle.....meh so many permutations

refs whistle means the play is dead, always has. Refs have ignored flags in the past when theyve seen something better and known its wrong.

Nice one. So it's on Premier 2. Have a feeling this will be one of the most iconic games of the season. Don't want passive, muted Mourinho for this. Want the Mourinho that once ran down the OT touchline with Porto, who beat his chest in front of the Kop when Chelsea denied them the title, who ran on to the field at the Camp Nou when Inter won. Full on heel Mourinho needed for this one.

Man City away be a big game for Leicester.

Win that there are title contenders even a draw might be ok.

There are no contenders it's a stroll for Liverpool. Can understand want to invent a great hope but it won't come.

Had to laugh at Chris Sutton knock Robbie Savage suggesting that league was over, his justification was to stress that its not over was because its the best league in the world.

Chris Sutton should know if one or two teams are accumulating nearly 100 points the last 2 seasons that there is reason to suggest its not as competitive as being made out the rest are just rubble.

Leicester lost to Liverpool and even Man United they've been on a great run all credit to them but the reality is they left it till the dying seconds to scrape a winner against a poor Everton side today while they could be good enough to stay in top 4 it is with regret therell be know chasing down by them or anyone for that matter.

The game isn't nearly as big for United this week as it was for any of the above opposition though

You can't compare Champions League knockout games or title deciding games to a midweek December league game between 5th and 9th place both 20pts off the pace and expect it to be iconic.

It's just 3pts at stake, nothing more. There'll be no running down the touchline

In ordinary circumstances that would probably be true but, considering how Jose`s time at Od Trafford ended, if Spurs do get a victory on Wednesday I think we might see a display of some kind from him.

Sutton comes out with some awful nonsense at times. The PL is the least competitive out of all the top leagues this season. On a side note, any else starting to think that Rodgers is going to go to Arsenal. Starting to flirt with the idea judging by his latest press conference. I think he 's mad.

Arsenal is a much tougher gig than Leicester and maybe even Liverpool. We're very nice fans in comparison.

If they do it dramatically, e.g. like Liverpool v Everton last season when Klopp ran on the pitch, then yes I could see it happening. But I wouldn't expect it to be much of a celebration if they score earlier.

I actually fancy United in this one anyway. If there's a display from Jose it'll be down to conceding or a penalty or something.
