I wouldn't write off Frank Lampard's Chelsea a lot of the squad are title winners and Chelsea know how to win the league.

Correct. In 2 hours time, liverpool might have lost and list Virgil and Mané through injury.
At that rate pool would be doing well to stay in top 4.

Leicester have proven themselves, especially defensively, to deserve to be challenging this year. City aren't going away and you are correct, Chelswa have the ingredients too.

The title race this year will go all the way again.

Did you wake up today and think, " I'll think I'll post something dumb on boards" or did it just come to you naturally?

I would have, but you clearly got there first.
The league isn't even going to be close at this rate.

Yeh absolutely mental to think it won't be close with an expected 11 point lead City look weak in comparison to last year.

Leicester and Chelsea are no where near Liverpools level.

'Expected 11 point lead' I like that, at that rate the league will be over by March.

    Cant wait.

You don't expect Liverpool to beat Brighton? Weird.

Bruce making the Newcastle fans forget about Rafa.

In the heat of the moment comment is what I’d call this. Steve Bruce’s Newcastle lost 2-0 to Villa last week. 1 point from those 2 games is not going to make fans forget the manager they wanted to keep hold of instead of him imo.

That said great point for him/ them this week and 100% 2 points dropped from Peps lads.

I didnt expect pool not to win the top flight league in so long.
I didnt expect it to rain yesterday either though.
Imagine that. Expectations not happening. I didnt expect Everton to be challenging the top 4 though...not all my expectations are wrong though.

    Enjoy the game.

Lol. Jaysus lads don't say any expectation towards Liverpool it will upset Shamobuc and he will try and slag your team off.

Liverpool heading for upwards of 110 points this season, which is unprecidented for top flight european football.

The conversation is going to start being asked whether or not this is the greatest club side ever. Not even Pep's barca with peak Messi, Xavi and Iniesta were as dominant in la liga as what Liverpool are.

They're 11 points clear, it would need a collapse of epic proportions not to win it. This Liverpool side are hardly Newcastle of 96'.

We're 14 games in to a 38 game season. An 11 point lead can be turned around still. I want to see Liverpool win the league this season but calling the league over after 14 rounds is crazy.

City win the reverse fixture vs Liverpool and it's down to an 8 point lead. Can city out do Liverpool results by 8 points in the remaining 23 games... that's not unthinkable. So yes Liverpool are in a great position but don't get carried away.

    No way.

I suspect most people playing this down are Liverpool fans trying to play reverse psychology or engage in a bit of reverse jinxing here. Understandable

11 points is possible to turn around in previous era's when teams were winning leagues with 80 points. But not in this era of nearly 100 points when so few are dropped its nearly impossible.

The gap will get wider and I suspect City's record 100 points tally will be broken.

I'm not a Liverpool fan. (Blackburn Rovers for my sins). People are just too quick to jump on the GOAT bandwagon or End of the world disaster these days when ever something good or bad happens. A season is 38 games long. I don't care how good a start any team has you can't call a title before the Christmas period has even happened. Injuries/Suspensions/Fixture Overloads could all see a side drop many points still. Liverpool are in great form results wise right now yes but its v difficult for any side to maintain that kind of form over an entire season. I'm not saying Liverpool won't win the league but i'm saying tamper expectations a little until we're in Jan at least.

Points to win the title last 5 seasons:
    2018-19 - 98
    2017–18 - 100
    2016–17 - 93
    2015–16 - 81
    2014–15 - 87

You should probably add one point to the second places teams totals to show what was actually needed to win the league each year.

    That's daft.

Liverpool, assuming they win this game, need 36/72 points remaining to get what should be pretty bulletproof top 4 points tally.

That would require them becoming worse than at any point under Klopp from out of nowhere.

He was doing a lot better than that without Salah, Fabinho, Van Dijk, Trent or Robertson.

To be completely honest, it's almost inconceivable that Liverpool don't win the league from here. It's not an arrogance thing. It would represent an unprecedented collapse in form, and an unprecedented upturn in form from City, or one of two teams which have no form for playing at that level.

Even to match last season's 97 pts, which will be more than anyone else can realistically manage at this point (City could only afford to drop 4 more points), they can now afford to drop 15 pts, which is only 4 fewer points than they've dropped over the past 52 games.

The title 2 years ago was effectively over by Christmas. I’d say you would do well to find a team as strong as Liverpool for 18 months in the league that took such a commanding lead in the lesgue and let it slip. Practically most EPL seasons Liverpool would of won the league last season and be cruising it now as champions of that league. They won the champions league and don’t look anyway anxious about the lead they have built. City also look very vulnerable and there is no sign that Liverpool won’t continue on the kind of form they’ve had the last 18 months.

Liverpool could lose the next 4 games and still be top, they could drop probably 15 points in their next 15 games (city won’t win 15 games in a row) and still be top it’s just a crazy lead and I don’t see a team of that quality losing that sort of lead. If Liverpool only match last seasons tally I think city can only afford to drop points in one or two games until the end of the season! I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to think they have one hand on the trophy. I think it will take some serious injury or fatigue issues for Liverpool to collapse.

Could be 2-0, they missed 2 great chances in around 30 seconds just now.

Nope. But not like WHU do t deserve it. Chelsea haven't done anything bar forcing one good stop. Should be 2 up now.
