Folks is the Apple store the best place to currently buy the aforementioned phone? It's a Christmas present.

It depends. Do you need it unlocked? There’s about a €50 difference between buying it from Apple.ie and Carphone warehouse for example. But the difference is that the one from Apple can take any sim. Also worth waiting until Friday to see what offers crop up. I see Apple are offering *up to €200 gift cards with eligible purchases.

Vodafone are selling it for €449 if you port a number over. Get a free Eir sim and port that.
    Apparantly they are unlocked.

Three sell it for €509 but its locked to them

Has anyone done this and can confirm that it’s not network locked to vodafone?
