Winter tyres?

What is the consensus here on winter tyres?

I've just bought a Specialized Allez Elite which I plan to use for weekend rides (mix of group and solo) and the very odd commute from October - March or April.

Looking for something that won't add huge weight and can be changed (so ruling out Schwalbe Marathon types), not going tubeless on this bike. Puncture protection and a bit of grip would help.

Wondering if I'm better off with a Conti GP 4 Seasons or just a regular GP 5000?

Or anything else I should be looking at?

I use conti GP4000 (25mm) all year round. No issues.

I use Schwalbe Marathon and can't fault them, cycle 12k of canal path daily and you want to see the lumps of glass I pull out of them with very few punctures I think 2 in the last 6k km. Is it the weight you don't like?

i recently bought these, though have only been out on them once so can't offer any sort of in depth review, except to say i didn't puncture and i didn't skid. but i usually don't.
