Router Issues

Internet does be fine then goes off , as soon as i turn off and on the router the internet is back

Any idea why this is happening ?

Its almost like its on a timer and cuts out , for you to then restart router

Would a new router solve this do you think

how old is the router, do you leave it on 24x7 usually and does it feel hot to the touch?

IMO replacing the router would almost certainly fix the issue. If it wasn't the router then rebooting would probably not fix the issue 100% of the time. Because it does, a replacement router would certainly seem a good idea.

Is there a modem sitting in front of the router?

Sounds like the possibility that your using a ADSL/DSL over the phone line system to access the internet? Maybe one of the DSL filters could be goosed?

What your internet type and if you don't know that, what is your fastest speed available to you in MB?
