Rubbish on Dart tracks

Sent complaint twice to Irish Rail. Connolly Dart tracks are disgusting and full of rubbish as with most other Northside Dart stations. So what’s Irish Rails excuse this time ? No money, no resources etc etc. All our countries seem to be able to keep their capitals public transport infrastructure clean except us as usual. Embarrassing that our capitals stations look like this.

I've pursued this issue with CIE/IE for over 20 years - expect no improvement. I don't know who you have been dealing with but I have always written by mail to the CEO at the time with varying degrees of success. If I had the time and still lived in the Dublin area I would be at them and others (Councils etc.) night and day.

Why are you singling out Northside stations? They all seem rubbished to the same amount to me, North and South.

I have also queried this issue. They do clean it but not often.

Proper enforcement and actual penalties for littering would be a start. In Germany you can be heavily fined for washing your car in a driveway because it's unsightly. In Ireland if you called and reported littering to the Guards they'd probably snigger and hang up.

Treat the disease, not the symptoms.

    It's attitude as well.
In Germany etc people tend not to litter both because of penalties and because they know it's wrong.
Here social responsibility and rules are for mugs.

OT , but the reason is nothing to do with that, it's because of the pollution that gets washed down into the public drainage system.

Yes we just love to throw our McDonalds out the window of our cars especially on Motorways. If caught they only did it because they had a hard upbringing.
