Vodafone doing the 3a for 249 euro when you move to them! If you're already with them, pick up a free sim from another network and just port it over to get the deal.

Absolutely a cracking deal. A pity they don't have similar on the XL but the 3a is still a dinger.

Does anyone know specifically if the Pixel phone is locked to Vodafone?
Or can it be easily unlocked via eBay?

My local Vodafone didn't have the 3a in stock, and can't buy online - website messes up.

I haven't tested it but AFAIK it's unlocked.

Do you have one? Any chance you can test it to confirm please?

Don't know what the story is with the special on the 3a, but seems impossible to buy. Visited 2 Vodafone stores, both had no stock and one checked stock in other stores - apparently there's no stock anywhere.

Also wasn't able to purchase online.

Sounds like and Argos type of thing to do, I'll just hold off and pay extra and get from Google on black Friday

I will test it in the morning, i'll grab a sim from Tesco and report back, but i'm given to understand they aren't locked to Vodafone.

@ibFoxer - What were the results of your test? Thanks.

Apologies for the delay, I can confirm that my 3a XL works with a 3 sim.

Guys I have a 3 payg Sim that I occasionally use and will probably port it over to get the Vodafone deal. Do you have to top up the Sim or is it just a port over for these type of switch offers? Ideally I'd like to keep it on 3 so would love to not top up for on Vodafone and port back to 3 after a week or so!

You might get away with only topping up with a tenner, but your bigger problem is being able to purchase the phone. AFAIK it's not in stock in any stores, and their website is completely broken for online purchases.

If anyone was interested in the Pixel 3A from Vodafone for €250, I just got an email to say it's in stock and have ordered.

Used a spare Eir SIM to port, only paid €250 - didn't need to buy any Vodafone credit.

Is this single or dual sim?

I'd take one if it was dual sim

Maybe they only had one a handful.

As an aside, astrophotography is kinda cool. The APK for Gcam 7.1 is out if anyone wanted to give it a go. Seems to be only a 60 second exposure but it produces some nifty results.

When I looked earlier it was out of stock on bill pay and on phones,b pages, but was in stock on prepay with the 100 off for porting. But no dual SIM so no good for me.

Can anyone recommend if it is safe to buy this on Amazon, saw it there for £299 which is approx €350. I want to move over to GoMo network.
I assume when you buy on Amazon it is not locked to a network?

Where's the link to it? The only ones I can see for £299 would be used ones from Cash Converters

Ah you are correct thanks Basil.
What is the best way to get this phone? Obviously I don't want to pay a premium price, Curry's have it for €499.

I have had my HTC M9 about five years now so it is time for a new phone!

I would wait until Black Friday and see if Google have a discount. Direct through Google is €400 at the moment, AFAIK.

Even at full tilt it's a helluva phone for the coin. You won't be disappointed. I'm fairly intense on use and I'm getting about 28 hours out of a full charge, always in or around the 5-6 or so SOT

So I ordered the 3a on Tuesday, they took my money on Wednesday, and the order is still 'processing'. Not expecting to get it.

I think it's pretty shoddy that Vodafone advertise €100 off the 3a on their main web page, but it has never actually been available. From the minute they bought out the promotion, there has been no stock in any stores, and the site has been broken for buying online. When they finally fixed their website, the phone went out of stock.

    It's all a bit of a con.
