I'm thankful every day that social media wasn't around when I was growing up!

It's an old-ish video of Elliot calling Kane an ableist slur that begins with M that I'm sure you can guess and that I won't risk posting here and getting a card. It's nothing serious and he was only 15 in the video but hey, that's why it's only a two week ban, the punishment fits the crime. He's essentially just been grounded :p

What'll be interesting to see is if they do anything with Bernardo Silva now or just let that one slide.

Funnily enough or not you do not get carded on here for using that word it is a common word used by a number of posters on here.

It is actually the one thing I agreed with good ole on when pulled a couple of posters on using it and was laughed at.

    Say the word meme. !

It's not so bad he got caught at it early in his career. £350 fine and 2 weeks. Learn and move on NBD really.

Edit: Just saw the "face-to-face education course", sounds a bit Orwellian, but nothing wrong with learning how to play the social media game.

The education course is most likely just some standard media training that all pros get nowadays that he hasn't yet.

Thanks all, will check those options out.

To save a bit of money, buy on the LFC online shop, buy in Sterling (it works out cheaper) and get it delivered to the LFC Shop in Dublin, as that delivery is free. Then you just go to the Ilac Centre and collect it. I saved about a tenner that way...

It was silly and naive by Elliot but a ban? For taking the piss out of his voice? Jaysus

Not that it matters as he'll miss nothing but still.

Lesson learned for him I guess.

Totally correct imo. It's a small punishment, but one that sets an important precedent.

Taking the piss out of his voice is not the offence. Broadcasting it to the world was. There'd have been no problem if he said it to his mates.

Same as the Silva thing - he keeps saying it was a joke between friends, but it wasn't, it was between him, and his friend, and the millions of other people that he broadcasted it to.

A lot of footballers just seem to have no clue over what social media is, and how far its reach and consequences are.

    .

Kids are actually taught that in primary school, so it really does show far removed some footballers are. Some 'normal' adults too to be fair.

Yeah, staying off social media probably good advice. Or get someone to run it for you if you really want the likes that bad.

Well apparently he sent a private message to only his friends on Snapchat. One of his "friends" leaked it. He did not broadcast it to the world. Its not quite the same. He is only 16. Hopefully he will understand that anything he sends digitally can end up in public but its a bit different than twitter, instagram etc.

Ah interesting... tougher sentence so if he didn't actively share it himself. I mean, by that rationale, it holds general off-field player behavior up to a very very high standard, far higher than is perhaps reasonable. Could still understand a 'disrepute' charge still, even if he didn't share it himself, but a ban feels harsh if it genuinely was actually just between friends, who spread it beyond that group without his consent.

Will Elliott miss the Arsenal game now or does the ban start from today??

TAA and Gomez unused subs tonight for England.

Hearing England weren’t great, Henderson didn’t impress either.

I think Trent will start v Bulgaria now instead of Trippier. Keane was poor but Joe being out of the first 11 means he is unlikely to take his place.

Fecking show off, you'd think he was Brazilian or something.

TAA and Gomez looked like world beaters on the bench! :)

Not a single person would argue against that. But that's a long way from "Gomez shouldn't be on the pitch". Go back to sleep!

Wouldn't pay much heed to that. Just a few choice comments on Matip...

'I agree with Redknapp, our CBS are pussies, matip is a pure ****ing fairy, hes like bambie, the guy is a wimp'

'Matip has done nothing at Liverpool for you to suggest he has a cool head,he was like Bambi on ice against Watford'

'I've said it before and I'll say it again, matip is a pile of dung'

'has Matip been good? I must have missed that game'

'I'd actually have Lovr,en in the side instead of matip, but it's impossible trying to juggle around 3 utter **** CBS to see which 2 are less **** together'

'Not such a bad thing having matip and lovren out for sat, both have been utter garbage so far this season and should be dropped anyway,Gomez and klavan won't do any worse'

'Matip with another **** up,the guy is as bad as lovren for me,anyway we've missed enough chances to be up at the break, wtf is wrong with mane, hasn't turned up at all this season'

'Anyone else notice the way matip acts,I only copt it the last four or five games,he acts very odd indeed,he reminds me of a little girl in the school yard prancing and skipping about, last night again when a decision went against him jumping up and down like a child who's not allowed sweets, just the way he moves and runs is annoying me now, he's certainly not a typical manly cb'

'I've said it for months now, matip, can and wijnaldum shouldn't even be within the Liverpool postcode they are fcuking disgraceful players'

'Great save from karius, matip as useless as ever'

'I'd have klavan instead of both Lovren and Matip, hes a better cb then both tbh, wont happen though
He's not as calamitous as Loren and not a chicken **** like matip'

'Matip is weak as piss anyway, all you have to do is look at him, he's like a lad who stumbled out of a concentration camp, only a matter of time before he got injured and it'll be the same thing if and when he gets another run out'

No, the song is Si Señor. Bobby has fully embraced it, even getting it stitched on his boots

Young Elliott got a 14 day ban for the video mocking Harry Kane.

    https://twitter.com/_pauljoyce/status/1182657657733353475?s=21

I think the team should wear Harvey Elliott t-shirts at the start of the next game in support of this injustice! :)

And Harvey should make a point of not shaking Harry Kane's hand the next time we play Spurs! :pac:
