    Budget 50k more than it will cost and a time table double what it will actually take from a couple that seem fairly normal.

    I fear we may not be in for a classic.

    I imagine it being so uncomfortable when you live on the road with your family and moved there when you were scraping pennies. 20 years later and they're doing well while others probably stayed behind financially.
    At least in my family the jealousy would be crazy. But then again my family only stays in good terms because everyone lives at least 2000km apart from each other.

    True, he might think it comes across as efficient but many might see it as a case of throwing up a house so he can get on to the next job.

    Not a chance, sure that wouldn't make the builders and suppliers, sorry sponsors a penny. :p

    Still it would be nice to see a realistic refurb with say a budget of 100 -150 max. Nothing fancy, but looking good at the end for that budget.

    The budgets proposed in RTI are out of the reach of most people now, But I suppose we are hooked anyway, and that is what they want to achieve. Escapism for the poor masses!
