I usually just select my keeper and just as the player is running up to kick it just move him to the side he should be hitting it, and jump the wall at the same time.

Hi folks cant link my game to the the ps Network to aply the update re squads etc. I get the warning ''The necessary ID verification data could not be acquired from PlayStation Network''

Anyone shed any light on this? I'm not yet signed up to the PS Plus. Could this make a difference? Fairly annoying playing with old squads.

PS Plus isn't required for PES Live Updates, so that's not the issue.

Are you able to connect to PSN outside of the game? For example are you able to open the PS Store? If you can't, that's your problem and either you have a problem with your home network or there's a firmware update you must install to restore your connection to the PSN.

If you connect fine to PSN already, you could try deleting the game and then reinstalling it? After that you probably need to get in touch with Konami directly.

Thank you mate. I deleted the game and the installation worked but not on master league squads? I can see form players and updated squads in exhibitin format but ML still has old squads. That's hardly right?

Did you start a new ML since reinstalling the update? If you only loaded a previous save then the ML squads won't be updated for that save.

(You probably dud start a new one since tbf, but it's just something to rule out.

As Wilberto pointed out, if you started a ML campaign before updating the squads you're stuck with the old squads in that game save. ML will only have updated squads for any new campaign you start *after* you perform the live update with the new squads.

In short, if you only updated squads in the last 24 hrs, you have to start a new ML game to have updated squads in it.

Not really enjoying this as much as I expected based off the demo. Dribbling seems very sluggish and unresponsive compared to the demo.

Also, there's a severe lack of freekicks awarded when playing against the computer!

Fingers crossed they tweak the game over the next few updates as I felt they hit a sweet spot last year with the fluid attacking game.

Thanks for your help guys. I started a new on but there was big Lukaku and Sanchez still knocking around OT. I'll delete the game again and retry.

The game needs a patch. The dribbling does feel off & the AI free kicks are ridiculous, I'd rather give a pen away than a free now. The refs let more go now but as a player I still get rewarded on average maybe 1.5 frees per game(never in a good position), which is low. Its still a bit too quick for my liking.

Sometimes players just don't move or react to lose balls & there are issues with the defense playing with crazy lines (they have mentioned this will be in an upcoming patch but its cost me goals and got me a few too tbh).

This is my biggest gripe by far, glad it's been acknowledged.

The other thing that bothers me is player collisions. Not so much that they happen, but when they do everything comes to a grinding halt. They fall over so slow and aren't quick to get up at all.

I have two main issues:

1. No matter what tactics I deploy, my team doesn't attack as a unit. It seems unless I am sending players on runs myself, the rest of the team stand around waiting for stuff to happen. I would expect the COM to control (to some extent) my other players and make them do what I've told them to do in the tactics menu. I matched my tactics to a team I played against, really liked their style of play and although this made a slight improvement, my team were nowhere near as cohesive an attacking unit as the team I copied tactics from.

2. I have serious problems trying to beat/turn COM players. I seem to lose possesion very easily everytime I get near the opponents box. Yet the COM are practically impossible to get the ball back from in this position, I get turned easily resulting in a lot of conceded goals.

Maybe I'm just crap but I used to mince the COM years ago on this game.

Finally started my master league, using Roma.

Team is much better than I taught, still coming 8th but a very strong team.

Anyone suggest a few wonderkids that can be got cheap?

Lopez from Marseille, think he's 21 and only costs around €18m. CM whos quite small but has unreal dribbling and passing.

Started a ML with united while I wait for a PC patch to be completed. In my second season and noticed some fairly big gamebreakers;

if you scout a player you can get him way below his market value and for almost nothing in wages (e.g. I bought Malinkovic Savic for 38m, wages of 42k)

By January in my first season there were way too many players transfer listed, sample: Kane, Gabriel Jesus, Bale, Xhaka, Zaha, Benzema, Arthur, Sane, Walker, Rodrygo and loads of others. Must have been about 20 or so 85+ overall players on the list. Some made some sense but a lot of them were unrealistic to me.

Liverpool sold Mane to Bayern and didn't replace him. Chelsea sold Azpi to Madrid, bought Insigne. Transfers generally a bit strange.

Still gameplay is good but ML a long way from the finished product.

Didn't know that about scouting, nice to know. Have noticed myself, even after setting transfer activity to fairly low, the CPU still make bizarre transfers. Aswell, whenever I play any of the top 6 in the PL, they usually have a reserve keeper starting? anyone else notice this?

I didn't know myself but I had tried to buy Bruno Fernandes and Savic in the summer window and couldn't agree a fee. I then sent my scout to Italy and he found Savic as a player to watch, when I went in to make a bid it started about 60m lower than it had been and had comments below Lazio and his contract saying something like "they are likely to accept" and "he has a good impression of us". The first time I tried to sign him it said "They do not want to sell a star player" and "Not sure of his role within our team".

I tried scouting AMF in Portugal and the same thing happened with Fernandes, has occurred with loads of other players since but I have tried not to abuse it.

Yes I've noticed reserve keepers as well, Cech is back in goal with Arsenal as well in my game?!? I've seen Chelsea, Liverpool and City buy random keepers I've never heard of for less than 1m and put them straight in.

Yes. Both Smyths and Argos selling for that price although Smyths seem to be out of stock in most places, and Argos are either out or very low stock in places too. If you can't get it in one of those, you're left with 65 in Gamestop or waiting for an online delivery.

Just a few comments on this.

Finding myClub hard going. Some brilliant lifelike play but some annoyances (liking hitting 'X' on xbox, he pressures opposition, gets the ball and then just stops - wtf?).

Have 219 ranking points in myClub, a new low even by my standards! Can't seem to score goals, invariably losing 1-0 to 400-700 point opposition having been under the cosh for most of the game as they just pass their way through or just coughing up a clanger in defence in the 3rd minute and then 50:50 for rest of match. I can see it coming a mile off but can't do much to stop them.

Agents are annoying too. I got Sergio Ramos. Then got him via a black ball agent. Tried to trade him but couldn't as different level/need three versions to trade (or both). So converted him to EXP trainer. He trains up Sergio 1. Immediately, I do another black ball agent. Guess who? Ramos again ffs!!! Admittedly it was RM black ball players and there only about 10 of them, but give me a break ffs. Cost me a lot of gold coins that mess. Very very annoying. Can they not just add some code to check if a player exists in the squad before a spin or at least loosen the duplicate trade rules - ridiculous.

My manager is 710 coin value and plays 4-3-3. I wish I had gone for a different manager as I find midfield and attack to spread out.

Out of interest, does anyone have an idea as to how sensitive the sprint/stamina is this year. I seem to recall you could sprint a lot of time with little fatigue a couple of versions ago, then they noticeably tightened it up last year. Is it as tight as last year in this version (my players are dead on their feet at the end of games but could be due to another demoralising defeat).

Anyway, think I will just revert to vs COM for a while. Only so many beatings I can take.

Have organised a team day out to the zoo next week. Hopefully that'll help the lads.

Does anyone start a Master League with the full squad (Liverpool with Alisson, Trent etc) or is it generally accepted that you work with the fake players and build from there? I'm considering taking a break from MyClub and giving Master League a go.

I think in recent years its more common to start with the standard squad as it does kind of ruin the immersion when the likes of Mane, Salah and Van Djik end up on random teams at the beginning of a save. The way I usually approach master league is my first save I pick a good team to get a hang of the game and not have much attachment until a decent patch comes out for PC. Once I get a good patch I'll usually pick a mid-table PL team or say Sevilla, Valencia, Roma or Torino someone like that in the European leagues. I'd use normal squads for that.

I usually lose interest after 4-5 seasons and at that point I might take a weak team in the 2nd tier of Europe and use the ML players and try work my way up through the divisions and comps.

Since the old lovable misfits of old were retired people usually just start with the standard squads. The new crop of misfits just don't capture the imagination like the old crowd did. Then again, following the likes of Minanda and Castolo etc. was always going to be a tough ask.

I can relate to a lot of this. Not really enjoying online 1v1 matches at the moment. I don't feel in control. 90%+ of my goals seem to come from defensive mistakes or the bounce of the ball going in my favour in the final third. And on the few occasions I can put together a decent move that worked out exactly like I wanted it to, the ball is saved, blocked or muscled away from me at the last second. Last season if I had over 60% possession in an online game, there was a good chance of me creating enough chances to win. It didn't always happen but your play was generally given fair reward. This season I just have to hope the ball bounces in my favour. Some may say that's somewhat realistic, which I won't argue with, but I will say it's not a lot of fun. I'm expecting they will balance that out a bit more at some stage. Hopefully in the October patch.
