Hi, 4 years ago I got an EPH R17 digital control for our heating system,
I am very happy with it but with such changeable weather I was thinking to have a smart control , that will allow me to change heating times from work.
is there a device I can use to make my existing R17 "smart phone friendly" or will I have to replace the whole unit?
and can anybody give me an indication of cost, please

You will need to replace the whole unit.
If you want to stay with EPH you need the RF 17 and ember pack.
It would be cheaper to purchase a single zone Hive thermostat and have it installed.

Thanks for that. I had a look after the post and I kinda came to same conclusion. but it is nice to have a confirmation, since I am new to it.
I have seen the Eph package for around €250 vs hive in Currys at €119 (HIVE Active Heating Multizone - Use your smartphone to adjust the temperature and set programs)

there is also a version of the Hive for €199
