Still very slow at getting the ball out of the ruck. Losing a lot of opportunities because of it.

well i thought it was his best game this year - and needed

The performance of the day that least warrants a trip to Japan is Reynals.

James Ryan must be man if the match. Been the dominant forward on the pitch all game.
    Definitely
Think he is the captain out there now?
    Actually Probably Ruddock

Henshaw has been immense for me - how he has been missed

He is a beast and without a doubt one of our most important players

Overall, you have to say Ireland look pretty good. They're still pretty toothless in attack, but as long as they keep within 10 points or so of their opposition, they can still beat anyone in the world.

Great performance. Low enough score, 2 missed kicks and a win. Not bad at all.

    Really?

    When was he slow?

Getting the ball away from rucks. He hesitated then with ball in hand.

If I were Australia I’d be chatting to watch that Welsh backline, keep them behind the back foot and their in trouble.

    Kilcoyne has been brilliant.

Great hit by Killer to finish the match. Much better performance to head off on a high now.

Good to see how much it meant to kilcoyne at end there. Roll on the RWC

Fair play to the Welsh defense for holding us out for that long

Excellent, disciplined performance up front. I'm still rather concerned about how hard we have to work to score trys and how we didn't score at all with all that possession in the final 10.

Probably not the actual #1 but they're clearly a very good side and in the mix

Rucks when Wales are slowing the ball down?

    Yep, all McGrath’s fault.

Good win. For all that physicality, Ireland are quite blunt in attack.

Maybe holding back a few strike moves, rightly.

    What a fückin hit.
    Lovely way to finish
Killer is probably the most improved player over the last year

POM could be a big loser today.

Clare McNamara's interview with James Ryan is on Channel 4 as well on RTÉ2.

Notice how the director decided to crop out the RTE microphone....

Good win, with plenty still to improve upon. Would be worried if I were a Wales fan, not sure how far they can go in the WC with no ball carriers.

I'm sure the team and setup pay as much heed to this as me- today was a big improvement , but we are a long way from being number one - the WC will decide that - but much more confident of breaking our quater hoodoo now
