2 year old laptop takes 5 mins to boot up

Howdy folks, Mother in law has entrusted me with fixing her laptop. It's only 2 years old but takes ages to boot up and is horrendously slow in general. I notice the disk is on 100% in the task manager window.

As others said, replace the drive with a SSD, it will make it into a totally different machine.

That worked a treat. 500GB SSD drive installed and windows loaded from Usb and the machine is unbelievably fast.
Just need to install another 4GB of ram now. Thanks lads
