My dads given name was "James" but growing up people called him "Bill".

    His official ID is "James".

The name on the deeds of his house is "Bill".

How does he go about changing his name to his proper name on:

    Deeds of house
    Tax records
    Bank

So your Dad was able to open a bank account as "Bill" even tho' his birth cert says "James"?.
Has your Dad's bank found a way around the AML provisions?
Had his solicitors any advice on using two different names?
Revenue may not be amused either
