Biology - Girls Allowed; Nice pop song. There's something about pop groups where being attractive is just as important (if not more important) than musical talent that has never sat well with me. I'll always respect less than Adonis musicians over their more beautiful compatriots. Girls Allowed have largely passed me by as a result but I did enjoy this. I really like the "the way that we walk, the way that we talk" at the climax of the song for some reason.

All Summer Long - Kid Rock; This bastardisation. Mish mash of Sweet Home Alabama and Werewolves in London with that oh so coveted Kid Rock flavouring. I think this fits the guilty pleasure moniker quite well as I absolutely hated it at first but it did grow on me too.

Africa - Toto; I feel like this is the third time this has appeared in this Walrus. Still a great tune.

Life is a Flower - Ace of Base; Not gonna lie. I went down an Ace of Base rabbit hole after listening to this. I had completely forgotten they existed. My older sister was mad into them growing up. So many of their songs are so familiar. I had no idea they were Swedish. A really nice pop group.

Will MrKingsley come dead last? Will Ectoplasm come first to take the title?

This is my highest Walrus score to date; not sure if I should be pleased or mildly offended? :p Glad you enjoyed it anyway.

Fun fact: one of the male members of Ace of Base was a neo Nazi; he later renounced his beliefs and apologised, but it hasn't stopped people looking for hidden Nationalist Socialist themes in their songs!

Party in the USA - Miley Cyrus; I've never really listened to any Miley Cyrus. This sounds familiar though. Nice pop song.

For The Longest Time (Billy Joel) - Barbershop Quartet; I don't really get the barbershop thing if I'm being honest. It's impressive to see live, but it's a bit of a novelty. There hasn't been one song that's made it any of my playlists. I listened to this a lot of times hoping the penny would drop but alas.

I must apologise to Mick Jaguar for saying I'd shoot these two...:o

Like you PJ I can't get the barbershop thing and also I like Billy Joel :D

Airplanes - B.o.B.; Just not into this genre at all. Rap/Rnb/Pop fusion. Whatever you want to call it. Rhianna made a whole career out of songs that sound identical to this. Not my bag, sorry.

Apologies Necro. We clearly have different taste in music. I expect nothing less than the wooden spoon in yours :P

Cake - Flo Rida, 99 Percent; Jaysus hated this on first listen. Didn't hugely improve. Again, not my genre at all.

Love Yourself - Justin Bieber; I may have name dropped Bieber when mentioning this category. I absolutely love this song and this album in fact. I found it utterly bizarre when I found myself eventually listening to the king of the teeny boppers. Goes to show you shouldn't feel guilty about liking anything. A good song is a good song.

Quite a low result for you Kingsley, your slipping.

We Are Never Getting Back Together - Taylor Swift; I love that "Ever ever ever" hook. I should probably give Taylor Swift a proper listen as I've liked a few of her songs. Her lyrics are hilariously specific considering she had a few high profile relationships. Great pop song.

You can have your Miley Cyrus crap and I'll take Airplanes any day :pac:

Congrats MrKingsley. We obviously have very similar tastes considering many 1st's you got. Thanks for all your entries. I've certainly expanded my horizons.

Well done Ecto on the category top spot and Mr Kingsley and Ecto for rocking this entire Walrus to claim a deserved 1st & 2nd overall.

    Thanks PartyJungle, great game.

    Cheers for the game PJ.

Voting down Traffic over Adagio though is an unforgivable sin I cannot let go :P

    Well done MrKingsley :)

Well done Mr.K some unreal song choices.

And great warus PJ great craic.

On the Barber Shop Quartet i get people dont like it but i love it and have spent many an hour on youtube watching some past America finals on it, its so cringey it actually breaks through past cringe into something i love.

Or to put it another way im not even sorry :D

I enjoyed it Mick. I think you should host a Walrus at some stage, I'd say the categories and the rankings could be very interesting :)

I was mulling over it last night, mainly trying to come up with wacky categories, i might eventually get there with it, just not sure how i feel about ranting others music tastes

I think it's less about rating people's taste and more about finding songs you like. I had one category where I liked pretty much every song in it but just some more than others.

Big congrats to MrKingsley for a very impressive score of 95 out of a max 108. Congrats Ecto for a very strong showing in second place. And congrats Necro for an impressive margin of "victory" in the chase for the wooden spoon. :D

And of course, most importantly, big thanks to partyjungle for hosting. My first time playing Walrus and I really enjoyed it. :)
