Bacon Fries, indulgent without being too fancy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,969 ✭✭✭Deebles McBeebles

I like both but it'd have to be Hunky Dorys. For one thing, they actually are crisps but also, the smell and taste of a fresh packet is divine. Bacon Fries rot yer teeth.

There will be no more talk of rotting teeth in this most important of threads.

    Coins on the shaft, grand.

Hunky Dorys Cheddar Cheese and Spring Onion. As I said previously, Bacon Fries once made me violently sick, and why would you vote for a Brit snack in this era of Brexit?

    This getting even more ridiculous.

I’m voting Bacon Fries, a magnificent pub snack. Great with a pint or a coke. Those Hunky Dorys are plate garnish in shít cafes. And I haven’t forgiven them for knocking out the greatest crisp of all time, Banshee Bones.

Bacon Fries are more than a snack, they are a companion. And a consistent one at that. They haven’t “mucked” around with the flavour and you would never see them tossed onto the side of a plate in a shítty cafe.

Bacon Fries, for truth and for justice.

Unofficial count has it at 13-12 Bacon Fries

Depends on how Duane's vote is taken though. 'Tactical voting' is that a real reason? I guess so

If accepted then that's correct I think

I'm a spiteful person when things go against me. I tried with the coins last night and I'd get two in under the hood and the third would pop out. I was messing around for about twenty minutes on my mother's recliner and went to bed in rotten form. My starting score today is only 15c.

Being a spiteful person, I'm going to have to go with Hunky Dorys here, as the true Fries (Skampi Fries) were knocked out unceremoniously and those greasy bacon flavoured clitorises are no condolence. I do like the odd Bacon Fry, but Hunky Dory's have an everyman quality and sit well beside toasted specials (which I love)

    Little. Yellow. Different.

Let's face it, fries are are the snack du jour of the modern crisp connoisseur. What happens when you open a packet of Bacon Fries? Fragrance, friendship, flavour. It all starts with that unmistakable salty aroma, floating in the air. Then there is the joy of others as you deftly split the pack along its side, opening it carefully, like a scholar does an ancient tome, in a ritual as old as bacon itself, a bread breaking moment that tells everyone gathered at the table they are welcome to share. And finally, as you lift that crescent crisp, that delicate morsel, that lightness of life itself up to your lips and into your mouth you are met with the pleasure of perfection that is a Smith's Bacon Fry.

Fries are the favoured snack of pacifists and poets, of philosophers and philanthropists. Of not just men and women, but the children too.

They are my choice for the semi final and they're the choice of a new generation.

    An eloquent Wayne's World pastiche.

Ok so ill vote Hunky Dory C&O since i have eaten them more recently, because i was in a shop and they were for sale. So, i guess the reason is they have better distribution and availability.

Bacon fries for me. The perfect pub snack. Crispy, bacon goodness.

Indeed, distribution is nothing to scoff at.

    Oh my f*cking Christ.

So your reason for voting for Hunky Dorys is logistics?

    Jesus wept!

While bacon fries are one of the greatest pub snacks, is never actually buy them unless I was sitting somewhere with a point in front of me. Hunky Dorys, on the other hand, are something I enjoy anywhere and everywhere and they are superior to almost every other crisp, so they get my vote.

Dory's are a decent crisp, have a bit of character about them but also have the ability to slice you open towards the end of eating them

Fries with some hot nuts/chilli nuts mixed in go together lovely while supping away and grazing through the Racing Post on a saturday morning/afternoon

I like them both for flavour. Have to go to the other variables to separate them.

You live in the country. Sure your local shop is also your post office, hardware store, pub and chemist.

Bacon Fries are available in pubs.

There are more pubs than shops in Ireland.

Therefore, their distribution network is superior.

Oh yeah, bacon fries are a very british thing. Hunky Dorys are now part of Tayto which is German owned, at least started out as a brand by an irish farmer.

    Bacon Fries!

    They look like bacon
    Taste like bacon
    Smell like bacon

They’re the Ronseal of the crisp world- they deliver exactly what they say on the pack.

Skimpy Dorys did knock out some beauties. Snax? Banshee Bones? Perri Onion Rings? Criminal. 25 to life, no possibility of parole.

I'm unnerved that I share the same streets as you lot.

It's perfectly viable and I'll allow it. Availability is a key factor. It can also go the other way in the sense that what's seldom is sweeter. A truly interesting factor and one I admittedly overlooked.

    Play on players.
