Guendouzi just isn’t good enough. He needs to learn to pass the ball quicker. He’s been caught way too many times fannying around in our own box and he slows attack’s down looking around him trying to decide what to do. Pass and go, pass and go.

I heard John Giles say last week that he reckons Guendouzi could become one of the top midfield players in Europe. Couldn't believe what I was hearing

He must have only watched him for the first few games of last season. He’s been fairly awful since. He hasn’t improved at all, still looks like a player that’s only played a handful of games.

I know that but he’ll want to try and score against us.

I am one of his critics right now but I think he has a lot of potential although he just isn't there yet. With the right coaching I could see him becoming one of the best but he is still far too naive/inexperienced to be expecting that of him yet, especially in a game like this.

Good goal Torreira. At least we’re playing to the finish.

The infection of mental weakness permeates this Arsenal team to the core. At the end of the days, these players just want to get off the field and cash their weekly pay cheques.

Would you mind keeping the bull**** to your own thread or the United thread?

What are you on about? Losing by two goals at Anfield to this Liverpool team.... we’re not losing 2-1 at home to Palace at all.

But he won't. And mostly for the same reasons he was a sub for ya. He's an average player with a decent bit of pace.

Torreira should have been on from the start today.
Laca must not be fully fit either as there wouldn’t be much point putting him on when you’re 3 down.

I was just about to post that. Laca and torreria should always be in the first eleven.

Not that disappointed as we have a poor defence and the new players are not up to speed as yet.
This game came too early as I said earlier and the team selection was suspect.

Feared the worse at 3-0 so I’ll reluctantly take that. Disappointed all the same but it shouldn’t destroy players confidence.

Starting with Guendhouzi and Xhaka in the middle against Liverpool was never going to end well. It's sickening to think with the current form of Liverpool if we gave them a game, with our attack we might have actually gotten some joy against them.

Starting line up was wrong. Emery needs to take most of the flack for this one for getting it so tactically wrong from the start.

No shame in losing at Anfield. Definitely should be top 4 with this squad. Only injuries or continued erratic decision making from Emery will stop us in my opinion.

I wonder is Torreria not fully fit yet or something? He hasn't played a whole lot since he came back has he?

Hopefully when this game rolls around again we will have him and Ceballos (and Pepe) up to speed and Bellerin, Tierney and Holding will be back

Liverpool fan here. Pepe looks the business, when he fully settles ye will have a serious weapon in your ranks

He’s got great feet to be fair. Have yet to see him with end product yet. Hopefully that’ll come.

Not as disappointed as I expected to be. I don't want to see Xhaka play in big matches anymore. Torreira was briliant when he came on. Let's take the positives and move forward.COYG

We'll be miles away from City and Pool this season as will most teams, so the aim of the game today was not be humiliated like the 5-1 last year. Goal achieved in that sense.

Write this one off, I saw enough signs there, especially going forward, that we're a much more dangerous team this year.

In recent years I have felt a lot worse after games at Anfield. A lot of positives to be taken away. If Auba and Pepe has taken their one on ones against a fairly weak keeper, it would have been a very different game. Ceballos looked at a loss, but that’s a hell of a place to go and play football against arguably one of the best teams in world football.

And by the way, I was very dubious about Luiz for the very reason of today. The Brazilian Mustafi! :-)

Emery is very frustrating. He tinkers with selection way too much based on who we are playing next. We've established no real identity and consistent style of play under him. Today we started with Laca and Torreira on the bench. They are starters every time for me. We were never going to hold out with this makeshift defense. Attack and press was the only way we were going to get anything out of this game. The setup was wrong from the get go.
