All calmed down a bit lads?

I'm sure Conor will give ye all a mention in his honours list this year.
Free shots of Proper 12 included, whether they like it or not.

    I've just seen the clip.
Initially I thought "ah it can't be that bad, yer man must not be that old ... maybe he have as good as he got".
Nope, just a professional MMA fighter sucker punching a lad sitting on a stool.

I would imagine they'd have developed a fine sense of who's an arsehole and who isn't these days. My old Shotokan sensei used to say the "instant kickers" were a big problem in the old days, you know, the fellas who were only interested in learning how to beat people up properly. Interestingly enough, a mate of mine only recently took up MMA training in a gym up Ballyvolane way. The same fella is about 6'4'', but the most unlikely MMA merchant you'd see in a long days walk. :D

I had a brief affair with BJJ, in the first beginners class one of the other guys was like 'when are we going to start hitting each other'. He wasn't seen again after that first class.

Pretty sure you're not a fan of GAA anyway.

Do you have to be a fan of GAA to be able to turn a blind eye to the thugs involved in it? Why is it acceptable to fight in hurling and gaelic?

Yes well, shortly after we started "hitting each other" under Master Liam O'Sullivan in Temple Bar in 1997, your correspondent started hitting the back wall of the dojo, propelled thus by an eight-stone girl with a black belt! :pac:

It’s all an act to drum up interest for his next fight.

    what next fight is this?

I know you're blatantly trolling but I'll ask one last question. Can you show me one popular sport that doesn't have scumbags involved? Just one will do.

    Women's hockey?

Or else you'll get one of McGregors 'notorious' tap out slaps to the side of the head.

FWIW, here's the East Ferry cricket team (all in black) against UCC in 2015:

The Marble Arch bar? Really? That is the name of the place? For shame.

And all I did to defend Dubs against accusations of being West Brits! I put everything on the line for ye (yis?) and now I feel like such a fool.

I'll defend the Dubs no more. Up Kerry.

Hard to tell what exactly happened in this but in general well known people involved in "fighting sports " must get some hassle when out in pubs. In no way justifying anything or any one but you can imagine the winding up they must get.

Again not justifying anything or any one.

Quite the pair of skinny jeans on him too. A fashion icon.

    I'm suspicious of the footage.

The customer didn't flinch after a punch to the side of the head.

Fair play to the old boy, he handled it well.

    "And hurlers are scumbags

    The McGregor/MMA defenders are gold.

Nobody here defended McGregor, people just said MMA isn’t a sport for scumbags and one man doesn’t define an entire sport.

You just got pulled up on your generalisation and despite the clear idea you have of yourself as cleverer than others, you’ve been unable to respond with anything resembling a point and are just having a tizzy.

I heard about this months ago. I'm from near by. The word is McGregor was buying everyone shots of whiskey, (his brand) and the man didn't want one. McGregor took offence. That's the gist of it.

From the video McGregor punched the man in the side of the head while the man wasn't looking. His upper body/head shifted. There was some force in it. It was not a clip. It was a dirty dig.

Are you a hurler by any chance?

jesus god NO. i dont do any sports. haha
i just really hate McGregor and the way he peddles this scummy behaviour to the braindead who are lapping it up as "normal" etc.

    little horrible git.

hate hurling and GAA too tbh. too muck savagey
